~Y/n's POV~

The sunlight streaming through my window felt like a cruel joke. My head pounded like a drumline, and my mouth was as dry as the Sahara. I groaned, rolling over and burying my face in my pillow, hoping to escape the relentless brightness. But there was no escaping the consequences of last night. My stomach churned as fragments of the evening started to piece themselves together.

"Good morning, sunshine," my roommate, Evanii, chirped from the doorway. Her voice was far too cheerful for my current state. "How's the head?"

"Feels like someone took a jackhammer to it," I mumbled, my voice muffled by the pillow.

She laughed, coming over to sit on the edge of my bed. "Well, you were certainly the life of the party last night."

I groaned again, this time in embarrassment. "What did I do?"

Evanii's grin widened. "Oh, nothing much. Just flirted with Paige Bueckers."

I shot up in bed, my headache momentarily forgotten. She has to be joking. "I did what?"

"You heard me," she said, her dark brown eyes twinkling with mischief. "You were all over her. It was actually kind of cute."

My mind raced. Paige Bueckers, the girl I had always considered my enemy, the girl who had just started to show signs of friendliness towards me. I had flirted with her? My stomach did another somersault, this time for a different reason.

"Did she... how did she react?" I asked, dreading the answer.

Evanii shrugged. "She didn't seem too freaked out. Actually, she seemed kind of into it. But you should probably text her and clear the air."

I nodded, reaching for my phone with trembling hands. My heart pounded in my chest as I typed out a message.

"Hey Paige, it's Y/n. I'm really sorry about last night. Can we meet up and talk?"

I hit send before I could second-guess myself. The minutes that followed felt like an eternity. I kept checking my phone, waiting for the telltale buzz of a reply. Finally, it came.

"Sure, let's meet at the coffee shop on Main Street in an hour."

I let out a breath I didn't realize I was holding. I had an hour to pull myself together. I stumbled out of bed and into the shower, hoping the hot water would wash away both my hangover and my anxiety. By the time I was dressed and ready, I felt marginally more human.

The walk to the coffee shop was a blur. My mind was a whirlwind of thoughts and emotions. What would I say to her? How would she react? The bell above the door jingled as I stepped inside, and there she was, sitting at a corner table with a cup of coffee in front of her.

"Hey," I said, sliding into the seat across from her.

"Hey," she replied, her expression unreadable.

I took a deep breath. "Paige, I'm really sorry about last night. I was drunk and stupid, and I didn't mean to make you uncomfortable."

She looked at me for a long moment before speaking honestly. "You didn't make me uncomfortable, Y/n. I'm not gonna lie, I was kinda into it. Don't get me wrong, we aren't besties or anything by all means but, you aren't too bad."

I raised an eyebrow at the girl. "You... you -are?" Now that was a surprise.

She nodded, a small smile playing at the corners of her lips. "Yeah. I mean you're hot by all means. And you're very attractive." She wiggled her eyebrows at me.

I was stunned. Paige Bueckers, the girl I had always thought hated me, felt the same way I did? It was almost too much to process.

"So, what now?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper.

She reached across the table to pick up her cup and sipped her Dr. Pepper, looking at me. "I don't propose anything serious. Friends with benefits, maybe? I mean we both know we won't be able to keep our hands off of each other for long. Without the team knowing."

"I mean, I don't mind. I'm down," I said, blinking at the taller girl. A smirk appeared on her face. Never in a million years would I imagine myself attracted to Paige, or Paige being attracted to me. It was surreal.

Before I could react, Paige grabbed my hand and dragged me to the family bathroom. I hesitated slightly before following the girl, confused.

"I've been wanting to this since I saw you at that party," Paige said, towering over me. I looked up at the tall girl in curiosity. She locked the door shut.

Before I knew it, she pushed me against the counter. She picked me up with ease, setting me on top of the counter so she wouldn't have to lean down. She locked her lips to mine. It was soft and tentative at first, but as I kissed her back, and she deepened the kiss. Paige began being more aggressive, her large hands roaming my body. She seemed starved. Before I knew it, Paige began trailing her lips down my jawline, kissing and sucking hungrily. Her hands reached up under my shirt, cupping my bra. I couldn't help but let out a small moan, which caused Paige to pause. I felt her smirk against my skin.

"You like it when I do that huh, Y/n? You like feeling my lips on your skin," Paige whispered against me as her hands gripped my waist. I let out a small whimper as she reattached her lips to my neck, sucking and biting, no doubt leaving marks. I haven't been touched like this in years, and Paige seemed to be an expert.

"P-Paige- please- someone might walk-" I was interrupted by a knock on the door. I pushed Paige off of me and she let out a groan of annoyance. I smoothed out my clothes and jumped off the counter, unlocking the door and peeking out. My eyes widened in shock.

"Sorry, the girls bathroom is fu- Y/n?" Azzi smiled at me in surprise. "Funny to run into you here. I was just picking up something quick to eat before I go work out."

"Hey, Azzi," I smiled back nervously. We looked at each other awkwardly and the tall girl raised an eyebrow at me before I continued. "Yeah, I'm gonna let you go in now-"

I pushed past Azzi and to her suprise, Paige followed me out. Azzi gave her a questioning look and Paige just shrugged and replied "team bonding." Azzi just walked into the bathroom, not thinking much of it sense the whole team knew me and Paige didn't get along too well. As soon as me and Paige made it outside, we both started laughing.

"Who knew Paige Bueckers could be such a scandal," I stated, teasing the taller girl, my nerves calming down because we were by ourselves again. Paige just rolled her eyes, a slight smile on her face.

"What are you doing tonight?" She asked, tilting her head. I thought for a moment before responding.

"I mean, I was just going to watch a movie because Evanii's not going to be home for a few days, she's visiting her family," I replied, shrugging. A smirk appear on Paige's face.

"Good. I'll be there at 10."
