After catching up with a disgruntled Hank, Y/N and Connor joined them in his car on their way to the new scene. Connor had automatically gone for the front seat, catching Y/N off guard for what seemed like the tenth time just that morning. She scoffed as she got in the back seat, feeling a lot like when she was still a kid going on road trips with her cousin. She grumpily crossed her arms, staring out the window with a child-like pout.

The car ride remained completely silent; someone could certainly have cut the tension with a knife if they'd want to. Finally, Hank pulled up to the wet, muggy street corner in the Ravendale district, parking next to what looked like a small convenience store.

As Hank went to talk to the convenience store worker, which the AX400 had robbed at gunpoint, Y/N walked across the street to the bus stop, waving down the bus who was about to pull away as she held the other arm over her face, trying to keep the rain off. She jogged up to the door as it swung open for her, and the driver put the bus back into park, frowning. Y/N quickly flashed her badge at the man.

"Detective L/N, Detroit Police. Sorry to stop you, but is there any chance you were working this same route late last night?" she asked.

He nodded, looking uninterested. "Yeah, I was. Never get to leave anymore."

"Do you recall an android, an AX400, getting off around this stop?" she asked.

He nodded once again. "I dunno about the model, but yeah, there was on one here, and the kid with her rode till the end of the line, got off here. They weren't keen on leaving so I almost had to kick them off."

Y/N threw her eyebrows up at his comment. "The android had a child with her?"

He nodded for a third time.

"Alright, thank you for your time, I'll get out of your way," she said, hurrying off of the bus and speed-walking back over to Hank, who was just leaving the convenience store.

"Hey, that android has a kid with her... Why wasn't that anywhere in the police report?" she said, looking between the two.

"The clerk said the same thing," Hank said, nodding towards the store.

Y/N's eyebrows furrowed in deep confusion. Something about this wasn't sitting right. How could that not have been mentioned? Why wouldn't someone report their child kidnapped or missing?

Ben walked up to the two of them. "We've got officers sweeping the neighborhood, in case anybody saw anything."

"Okay. Well, let us know if they turn anything up," Hank said, looking at him.

Ben turned to look towards Hank's car, catching Y/N's attention. It was only then that she noticed Connor was still standing next to the passenger side door, completely still, getting lightly rained on as the morning drizzle continued to fall.

"What are you gonna do with that...?" Ben asked.

"What is he doing..?" she asked, mainly to herself.

"I've no idea..." Hank muttered.

"You'd think he could look a bit less creepy while he waits..." she muttered out of the side of her mouth, leaning over to Hank. He grunted in agreement.

She had to admit, his behavior at the station had caused her to temporarily forget that Connor wasn't really human. As Hank slowly walked back under the convenience store canopy reading through the information on the tablet Ben had handed to him, she took the opportunity to also duck underneath the cover.

Without moving, Connor finally turned his head to look at the two of them.

"It took the first bus that came along... and stayed at the end of the line. Its decision wasn't planned, it was driven by fear."
