a/n: don't forget to comment!!
the streets buzzed with the energy of a thousand flickering lanterns, their warm glow painting the bustling night market in a kaleidoscope of colors. the aroma of grilled skewers, blooming cherry blossoms, and the rhythmic beat of taiko drums filled the air, loud laughter and chattering, a symphony of festival joy. (y/n), a beauty of laughter and sunshine in her worn leather jacket, reveled in it all. Today was her day off from the convenience store..!
as she navigated the crowds, a chill settled over her. A pair of blank eyes, cold and calculating, locked onto her from across the throng. It was chika takiishi, the notorious leader of the noroshi gang. The whispers surrounding him painted a picture of a man devoid of empathy and violence.
(y/n)'s gaze swept across the throng, catching the spectacle of plays, the melodic strains of a street musician, even the nervous giggle of a child clutching a wonky balloon. then, her eyes also locked on to chika takiishi.
his flame-colored hair, perpetually tousled, was a beacon of his unsettling presence. chika was a riddle wrapped in an enigma, his eyes holding a chilling indifference that made (y/n) curious. He was undeniably handsome, yet the darkness in his gaze made her skin crawl.
(y/n) had heard whispers about him after her meeting with bofurin a few days ago, tales of his school days at furin, his complete disinterest in everything that wasn't fuelled by his own twisted desires.
Yet, here he was, his eyes glued to her, a predatory gleam dancing in their depths. It was unnerving, the way he watched her, as if she were a rare specimen under a microscope, fascinating yet utterly insignificant. i am not a bug..!
chika takiishi wasn't even trying to hide it. his gaze followed her every movement, a silent, unnerving presence that she couldn't shake off. Most would have run, but (y/n), stubborn to a fault, simply shrugged. This was her festival, and she wouldn't let some brooding guy ruin it!
he followed her tho, a shadow that refused to disappear. she tried to ignore his presence, but it was impossible. It was as if he was determined to make him the sole focus of her attention.
chika takiishi was like a persistent fly, buzzing around her, his presence a constant irritation. He'd appear at the corner of the stall where she bought fried dumplings, his eyes following her every move. He'd be at the Ferris wheel, a silent observer as she laughed by herself, the playful light in her eyes seemingly fueling his own unsettling fascination.
(y/n) is a stubborn spark of defiance in her own right as she found herself both annoyed and intrigued. chika takiishi was a puzzle she couldn't solve, a fire she couldn't extinguish. she was used to dealing with challenges head-on, but this was different. This was a challenge that wasn't about physical strength, but about the battle within her own mind.
finally, she decided to face it head-on, "what do you want, takiishi?" she demands, before she speaks again, a teasing edge to her voice as a grin spreads across her face, "do you fancy some takoyaki or something?" she continues, gesturing towards a stall with a long queue.
the surprise on chika's face was almost comical. He'd expected fear, perhaps a challenge, but this open invitation, this casual acceptance, threw him off.
he couldn't help but blink.(y/n) chuckled, her bubbly nature radiating through the night, "i mean, it is a festival. It's meant to be shared." she points out. If she can't shake him off, might as well get him to join her.
chika, caught off guard by her unexpected kindness, found himself...intrigued (and he never is unless it's umemiya). He also never expected to be invited to anything, let alone by someone he was so fixated on. And this, this intriguing, fierce girl, with her bright smile and vibrant spirit, was making him feel weird things, something he never thought possible. what witchcraft is she casting on me...he mindlessly thinks.
