Taehyung was a man who had experienced numerous tragedies in his life. Ironically, he believed that nothing in the future could affect him as much as the past events had already done. Grief, something he had known since the moment his mother passed away, leaving him and a young Jungkook alone with a father who didn't know how to take care of them and buried himself in his work  all day and night. Anger, what fueled his determination to come this far; when he was furious, he had nothing to lose. Envy, a feeling which plagued him as he saw other children being loved and cared for by their parents while he and Jungkook had no one by their side, despite having all other comforts. However, betrayal was something entirely new— a fresh wound with blood still flowing out. Not something he had expected  the special people he had allowed to see his true self would ever do.

It was rather ironic, how such a gruesome incident happened on the brightest day after two straight weeks of grey skies. Everyone in the office was in high spirits, both because of the fresh and warm feelings the weather had brought and because their 24/7 grumpy boss was in a good mood. If Taehyung was being honest, Hawaii had done him better than he would've imagined. He was more relaxed than ever when he sat on his seat after two weeks, reading the reports his secretary had brought him during his absence. No one was going to get screamed at and certainly no one had to look for new jobs.

Since he couldn't bring himself to compliment someone that much easily, Taehyung gave his secretary a nod which was supposed to be an approving one. The young lad had worked him for years, however caught that and sighed in obvious relief.

"Sir, Mr Park has cancelled the meeting which was to begin at 3.30. And with that, your schedule clears for today "

He dismissed his secretary contented with the day's going. Taehyung would love to take Jennie on a romantic date but rather than that he needed to catch up with Yoongi, his stepbrother. With the CEO election so close he didn't want to give his stepmother the wrong idea that they were not on good terms, when in reality both of them were so busy with their lives, that they had no time to hang out as they did earlier.

Thinking about the CEO election, his mind automatically wandered to the owner of the husky female voice that had called him the previous day. He had no idea how she had got his number. He just knew Jennie would never.

"Why would you not? Don't be stupid. He's not even your brother "

"I don't have the relationship you and Jennie have. He's my own brother " He had returned.

Contrary to popular opinion of everyone about his family, his household was rather peaceful than most of the prestigious families could ever hope. Every laughter they shared, every word they spoke was genuine, meant by heart which he couldn't say the same for most of the families in their status. The best example was her family. But again the circumstances they were going through were totally different. While Taehyung's father and his stepmother had married after a long time their spouses had passed away; Kim Won Yeo got Jennie's mother pregnant when he was still married to Jisoo's mother. While his father, although married for business purposes was blissfully in love with his stepmother; Jisoo's mother, Kim Won Yeo and Jennie's mother were only one hairbreadth away from killing each other. So that explained much why Jennie and Jisoo couldn't get along as he, Yoongi and Jimin did.

Being brothers Taehyung of course knew the password for Yoongi's apartment and knowing him, he didn't hesitate to enter at all. He seldom had a girl over and though he did, once in a blue moon, he made sure no human beings knew about that. So in broad daylight, that was obvious he didn't have to knock and wait like a stranger.

But again miracles do happen, right?
