It is a twilight on a day in early spring. The setting sun creates a magnificent view against the west skyline when I watch out from the big glass window of Taehyung's room. My fingers drum in an impatient rhythm against the armrest of the couch I am sitting on. I am fueled with frustration. I am afraid if I didn't force myself to look out, I would do something I am going to regret later. The hours of my pestering have gone deaf ears of the man I at the moment was ignoring, looking elsewhere. Meetings of his parents and my mother at once had never gone well in history. And if the situation somehow causes me to hear their boring lectures, I might well stay at home and watch Toy Story for the nth time with In-Su. But the fact annoying me is Taehyung's refusal to tell me what is this about when I am sure, he more than knew about everything about this sudden family meeting. Finally, the anger takes the better part of me as I turn to look at him.

"Take one more minute and you will defeat a teenage girl getting ready for her first date."

Which is true. He is taking forever to get ready. Or maybe he isn't, maybe I am being the petty one taking my anger out of him. Either way, he richly deserves to get snapped. Holding back himself from lashing out, probably because of our baby dozing off peacefully on my lap, he gives me his infamous glare which I return with the same intensity it came.

"Wait for me in the car." He finally says breaking eye contact as I sigh and rise to my feet, taking the little sleeping figure into my arms.

"Be quick," I utter before Leaving his room. Once upon a time, we had shared a room. But it's been so long that at the moment, I can't even remember how it felt like to sleep beside him. His and my marriage isn't a contract but sure it feels like one. He has been true to his words since me and my mother are still alive and apparently, I have been useful to him as well because he has become the CEO achieving his and his late mother's biggest dream. I feel safe. I am free from my pathetic excuse for a father, which a few years ago was only a dream. Love's not important to me. I am almost convinced. I was not raised with love and I didn't need any now.

His family is nothing like I had expected. Despite how weird and difficult for me to fit in, I have grown to love them. I do love them. If I am being honest, once upon a time that was my dream family. And I couldn't help but become jealous at how Taehyung's stepmother loves him and Jungkook as well as how Taehyung's father loves Yoongi and Jimin like their own children when they didn't even have any blood relation. Of course, I know my mother loves me, more than she does for anyone but she has failed to show her affection throughout my childhood. She was, she is, so busy for such useless things. However, both his parents and my mother had got along, which formed many partnerships and a whole lot of other stuff. That is good. That keeps me out of those things and Taehyung more busy. Well didn't he love meetings, documents, calculations and all? Even if he didn't that's what he additionally got for the flavor I did for him.

Reaching Taehyung's parent's house most of the time fills my heart with warmth but today I am not so surprised by the dread I am feeling as I watched my mother's car parked in their driveway. I catch Taehyung's eyes once before the driver opens the car door for me, but again he bluntly refuses to meet my eyes which is not a good sign at all. Which means whatever is going to happen, he will not take my side but my mother's.

Upon entering the house I catch a glimpse of Yoongi in the corner of the hallway seemingly screaming at someone. To the uttermost surprise of everyone and the absolute misery of Taehyung, he had got married to Jennie. All four of us were uncomfortable at the beginning but however, got used to that since their family had dinners together than the number of words me and Taehyung had ever spoken.

Next, I catch Jungkook and Jimin lounging on a couch, each of their eyes glistening when they see my little baby and both of them, like by instinct smirk when they see me. Again, a bad sign. Jungkook snatches my son from me and is about to say something when Taehyung glares at them, dragging me to the study room. Where I am sure, not-so-pleasant things are about to happen.

"Jisoo!" Taehyung's mother's excited tone whenever she sees me, for a moment calms down me as I greet them all. Maybe this is just another boring meeting and nothing important. But why do I have a bad feeling about this?

"Take a seat," She says smiling. You may think I am being ridiculous but I swear that isn't the smile she usually gives me. It's too sweet, almost fake. Everything about this makes me suspicious.

Taehyung's father begins. "Jisoo dear, we know you've been busy with In-Su and all but-"

"That's not an excuse. I raised her alone and I had no one by my side" Sometimes I doubt how they keep up with my mother, if I am in his situation I swear, I would reshape her nose.

If he is upset, he doesn't show it. Instead, he stops beating around the bush just like my mother likes it. " So we expect you to start working in the office starting next month as an intern"

"Jungkook and Jimin are there with you as well." He adds probably noticing my face.

"Besides Taehyung is there to help you too." His mother adds like it is supposed to be assuring.

It's a surprise I haven't fallen from my chair. This is not something you should overreact. Don't explode. Don't explode. Don't explode.

"I think Taehyung and I have something to talk about. Excuse us" I finally manage to say as Taehyung's mom's eyes grew concerned, she better be because if I were her I would be as well. I drag him to the outdoor space of their house, my nails are probably forming holes in his hand.

"Once you're home, you're dead" I grit when I am sure no one can hear us.

"Oh, you think I love this?" He freed his hands from my grip. "Suffer with your attitude while I am at work as well? Believe me, I hate this as much as you do."

"Oh, who knows? You might love to see me working under you." I am furious. I barely realize what I am talking and I know I am going to regret this. For better or for worse, Taehyung walks away in the middle of our heated argument leaving me standing alone, fuming with
anger.
