Chapter 9

Avani Pov
I have decided that I won't go in the wedding at all. Even my parents don't care cause my presence doesn't matters to them.

I was sitting on my desk checking some answer papers when Yug came. "Avani can you come with me to the canteen I want to talk to you" he said and I nodded.

We both went to the canteen and sat on a table when Yug whispered to me "Are you dating the new Football Couch"

I knew what was going on. "No actually it's a long story" I explained the whole situation to him and understood what was going on in the college.

"So do you like Vikrant?" Yug asked me while I didn't knew the answer. "I don't know if I like him or not but he is sweet and even he helped me at the turf knowing the whole college is teasing us"

I said remembering everything. "He doesn't seem bad to me but still I will question him first and see if he good for you" Yug said and I knew if I stop him then to he would question him.

"You are not going to question him and this will only make things ak- before I could finish Vikrant came in the canteen and Yug called him.

I eyed Yug to not say anything but he was not listening and Vikrant sat down. "Hi Vikrant, I am Yug the History professor"

Yug and Vikrant had a handshake "Vikrant Khanna and I am a Football Couch" Vikrant said in return. "Vikrant you don't have to practice"

I asked him and shook his head as no. "I am mostly free and going home soon to as it's my brother's Mehendi" he said and I nodded.

"Avani you can go as it's your Lecture time" Yug said and I checked the time it was time for my lecture and I nodded. I got but I was not going to let Vikrant be alone with Yug.

"Vikrant come with me" I held onto his hand and took him out of the canteen while Yug was looking at me with big eyes. I knew he was shocked but I had no other way but to do this.

"Avani my hand" Vikrant said and I noticed that I was still holding his hand and soon I left it. "I am sorry but I had to do this" I said while he was confused.

"Why did you do it?" Vikrant asked me. "Actually as you know the whole college thinks that something is going on between you and me so Yug also thought the same and was going to question you so I did this"

I said looking down when what Vikrant said made me shocked. "I have no problem in them thinking we are dating" he said casually with a straight face as if was nothing.

"Wh what are are you okay with you" I said fumbling a little while he nodded. I was about to say when one of my student came and said "Mam sorry to interrupt your romance but you have lecture in our class"

"If two people are talking that's means they are romancing an-" before I could finish my sentence Virant stopped me. "It's okay Avani it's not her fault so calm down and go take your lecture"

He said in a calm tone and unknowingly I nodded. "Go and don't take stress okay" he said and went from there somewhere making me feel calm. I too then with my student went to the class to take lectures.

Vikrant Pov
I reached to the address bhai had given me. It was a bunglow. The family seemed rich and I think the only reason our parents wanted them to marry.

The Mehendi function was going on while bhai was sitting with Avantika discussing something. He was working even if it was his own wedding functions.

For bhai work always came first even if he never wanted to be a lawyer he did his work with full dedication. They finished talking when I approached Avantika.

For me Avantika was my sister. She was talkative and sweet just opposite to bhai. I had once tried to even set them with eachother but it was a fail cause bhai doens't like Avantika much as of her personality.

"I heard you are resiging" I said and Avantika nodded. "Don't ask me why it's just some personal reason" she said but today there was no glow in her eyes not in happiness in her voice.

"You can't even tell your own brother what if I can do something" I tired to convince her to atleast say what the problem was. "There is nothing that even I can do and it's just some family problem so don't think about it"

In our lives our parents were the biggest problems. Avantika's parents lived in London while she used to live here with her grandparents.

But they passed away a year ago and she was all alone. Her parents wanted her to come to London but she was well settled in India. They didn't even attend their own parents funeral.

"Parents are the biggest problems of our lives which is never going to be solved" I said when I suddenly felt I saw Avani. "Avantika I will talk to you later"

Avantika nodded and I was about to go to see if it was really Avani or not but I did not see anyone. I really like Avani and I don't know why but I do.

I don't know about her feelings and I don't want to rush things up. Maybe I should talk to bhai about this once the wedding is over.

On one side bhai and Riya were applying Mehendi eventhough bhai didn't wanted to but I forced him to do so. I was sitting when I saw Mr Patel, Riya's grandfather searching for something.

"Dadu can I help you with anything?" I asked him. "Actually I was searching for my phone I think I kept it in my room" he said. "You don't worry I will bring it to you"

He told me where his room was and I quickly went up in his room. The room looked like it was a girl's room. I searched the whole room but didn't find the phone.

Maybe I came in the wrong room I think. I thought to check in the bathroom once. I was about to open the door when the door opened from inside revealing Avani.

Seeing me Avani screamed loudly. I quickly kept my hand on her mouth to refrain her from shouting "Avani it's me Vikrant"

I said while my one hand was on her mouth while the other one was on her waist. She then looked carefully at me while I removed my hand from her mouth.

She blinked her eyes and then touched my face to know if I was actually there or was she dreaming. "You are not dreaming about me Avani, I am actually standing here"

I said to make her believe and she did. "What are you doing here that to in my room" she asked being confused.

And that was when it hit me. Avani was Riya's sister. Wait that means she was going to be bhai's Saali (Wife's Sister). "You are Riya's sister and I am Ranvijay's brother"

I said understanding the whole situation. "Wait that means our siblings are marrying eachother" she said and I nodded. What a great coincidence it was.

"So this is your room and not your dadu's room actually I was finding his phone" I asked and she nodded. "His room is beside me I will bring the phone" she said and looked at while I was confused.

Then she pointed towards my hand which was on her waist and I quickly removed it. She went to the other room and brought me the phone. "You can give this to dadu"

She said and I was about to go when I asked her "Are you not coming down" I asked her. "I was coming down in some time" she said and I nodded.
