Chapter 17

Ranvijay Pov
I was sitting in my room working on a case but my mind was roaming somewhere else.

First the marriage then Vikrant getting into an accident. There was nothing in my life that was going right.

I don't know what will happen to mine and Avani's marriage. Vikrant was acting strangely too.

Avani was somewhere right when she said that it wasn't my fault that Riya ran away. Yet it was my fault as I could have stopped the wedding but I couldn't.

Yesterday Avani told me that it's better that she started going to the college today as it will help her distract from this whole mess.

I decided to work from home as much as possible so that I can keep an eye on Vikrant.

Vikrant was acting different when Avani was around as I could understand that it would be difficult for him to accept her as she is also her colleague.

Avani is in a huge mess because of this marriage. What if she already had a boyfriend or liked someone? I didn't wanted to be a reason of her incomplete love story.

Should I talk to her about this? We can still do something about it right, it's not too late.

What if she wants to give our marriage a chance? I don't think I will ever able to recover from the heartbreak Kavya has given me.

But some or the other day we all have to start new beginnings, maybe this is a change for me to do so.

I had to do something. That was a knock on the door, it was Avantika. "Sit now I want to talk to you"

I said and she sat down. "Where will you go once you leave this job?" I asked, she was suprised when I asked this question.

"I-I will go to America" she said with hesitation.

"Why are you lying to me Avantika, I called your parents and they told me that they have not talked to you for since a long time. Your grandparents are not alive too, you don't talk to your parents then where will you go huh. Why are you freaking lying to me?"

I said shouting the last sentence. Anger was visible in my voice. I didn't knew why was she even lying.

That was when suddenly Vikrant came hurriedly. "What happened bhai, why are you shouting?" he asked.

Avantika was still not saying a word making me lose my patience. "Is something wrong?" Virkant asked.

"Avantika wants to resign but she doesn't have a proper reason and she is lying to me about going to America as her parents are calling her " I explained to him trying to be calm.

"Avantika why do you want to resign?" Vikrant asked being suprised, he knew Avantika and I bickered a lot but Avantika was very good at her work.

"I have my own reasons" she said whispering slowly. "Can't you even tell me Avantika? Am I not your brother" Vikrant said.

Avantika was sitting silently without uttering a word. That was when Avani came. She noticed the tension in the room.

"Let's all have dinner, I bought dinner from a restaurant nearby" she said and everyone nodded.

We all sat on the dinner table but none of us was striking a conversation. I wanted to know badly why was Avantika resigning.

There is a very strong reason why she was quitting, I wanted to know what it is. "Why is everyone so quite hmm"

Avani asked softly. "It's just work problem" I said while glaring at Avantika. Maybe I should ask Avani to confront Avantika why she wants to resign.

We all had dinner silently. After that Vikrant went inside the room to rest while Avani and Avantika both were in the kitchen.

"Avantika can you please go out and check the file of our recent case" I said and Avantika nodded, she went outside and I quickly turned Avani to face me.

"I need your help. Avantika wants to resign and there is something wrong about it so can you confront her about it and try to know why she is quitting. Please Avani" I requested her.

Avani thought for sometime and then nodded. "I will try to talk to her hmm don't worry" she said with a small smile making me relieved.

After some time I went inside the room and motioned Avani to talk to Avantika right now.

Author Pov
Avani nodded and sat beside Avantika to strike a conversation. "Hii Avantika. I know we haven't talked much but we can be friends right?" Avani said with a smile.

Avantika returned the smile "We can surely be but it will be short lived as I am resigning and I will fly to America"

Avantika had a hint of sadness in her voice which didn't go unnoticed by Avani. "Avantika I won't beat around the bush. I want you to tell Ranvijay why you are resigning"

Avani got straight to the point whereas Avantika knew too why Avani was talking to her. "There is something I can never share to him and I want him to understand that I have my own reasons. I hope you make him understand that as you are his wife"

Avantika said whispering the last two words.

"We all have our own reasons of doing something or the other. We both also married eachother for some reason but now we are facing it right? Then I hope you also face your reason hmm"

Avani said softly while keeping her hand on her shoulder. "Also remember I am always here for you, you can call me anytime from any part of the world and I promise I will try my best to help you. If some day Ranvijay also troubles you tell me hmm"

Avantika hugged Avani. She was overwhelmed with Avani's words. Eventhough they both didn't knew eachother well it felt like they had known eachother since years.

Avani knew that she was not able to find the truth but she got a new friend whom she was going to support forever.

"I am now going home and please give this tea to Ranvijay, it will help him with his Insomnia" Avantika said handing Avani the tea which was specially for Insomnia patients.

Avantika left and Avani went inside the room where Ranvijay was waiting impatiently. As soon as Avani came Ranvijay asked.

"Did Avantika say anything?" only for Avani to refuse. "Ranvijay she gave me this tea for you. Also I think you should accept her resignation, she has her own reasons just like we have. That's why we are married due to some reason right?"

Avani said while Ranvijay thought for sometime. "But she is very good at her work" Ranvijay exclaimed.

"She maybe, but let her go who knows that she will come back on her own. You never know what destiny holds for everyone.

Sometimes you have to fight to change your destiny and sometimes you have to let go and if it's meant to be in your destiny it will always come back to you.

Ranvijay let her go maybe she will come back" Avani explained Ranvijay why he should accept Avantika's resignation.

"Ok I will do it" Ranvijay said after thinking a lot.
