*notice will be deleted later*She hadn't thought about what kissing Roseanne could feel like. Knowing the differences in their senses... her working ones, taste... touch. Versus Rosie's muted ones; her first assumption might have been that it wouldn't be nearly as enjoyable.
But she couldn't have been more wrong.
It was odd; kissing lips that appear so supple, yet all she could feel was their shape... and the lack of warmth.
A reminder, that the woman's cheek she held so dearly in her hand, belonged to someone who existed on a different plane than her own. But even so, she couldn't believe how well their lips fit together.
As if they were two completely different puzzles; yet somehow their missing pieces completed one another's pictures regardless of color and texture. All they needed was a complementary shape. With the shape of Roseanne's lips aligning so perfectly.
She wondered if Roseanne could feel it too, smiling against her lips at the thought. Separating them ever so slightly to breathe in a breath of fresh air. Her nose tracing the blonde's as she remained close.
Yet Roseanne leaned away before she could dive back for more, looking at her with those deep brown eyes. Only a light sheen of silver masking their full beauty from her. But as she smiled to the woman who set her heart ablaze, she realized it wasn't warmth being returned in Roseanne's eyes.
But something more along the lines of confusion... maybe even guilt.
Had she not made how she felt clear enough?
She slowly removed her hand from Rosie's cheek, but hesitated when it came to stepping away. Not wanting distance to come between them again, especially after finally getting so close.
"Is something wrong?"
Roseanne's focus shifted from her. Appearing nervous to meet her gaze now.
"It's okay..." She told her quietly, coaxing. "I'm sorry if it's something I've done..."
"It's not." Rosie's eyes found hers. "Well- partially... but it's circumstances... not you."
"Circumstances?"
Roseanne looked down, and she could feel a knot forming in her stomach at the sight.
"Rosie... what is it? I... I thought it was nice?"
"It was."
"Then how come you don't seem as happy as I am?"
The air stilled as soon as the words left her lips and she regretted them almost immediately. Especially seeing Roseanne's momentarily wide eyes.
Why she made it sound that way she didn't know, but she didn't need to see the gloss in Roseanne's distant reflection to know that she shouldn't have asked it. At least, not the way she had.
