In the village, Khushi and Arnav stood in front of the entire community. Khushi was crying, hugging her mother, while Arnav was trying to explain their situation: "Please try to understand, we did nothing wrong."

He was interrupted by the village head, who said, "We don't want to hear anything from you. It's a sin to spend a night together without any relationship. Our village girls and boys get spoiled watching people like you. It's important to punish you for the sin to give them a lesson."

The head of the village announced, "As a punishment, we will color their faces black, shave their hair, and tie them to the tree for five days."

Everyone was shocked after hearing this. Khushi hugged her mother tightly and said, "Mom, I did not do anything wrong." Her mother nodded and rubbed her back to calm her.

Seeing the situation, Sunidhi came forward and said, "Bhai Sahab (elder brother), they did not do anything wrong. They were already married; they had a court marriage. We are going to get them married with all the rituals next month." Khushi and Arnav were shocked to hear her. Even Khushi's parents were shocked, but they supported Arnav's mom, understanding that she was saying this to protect them.

"Yes, she is right. They were already married," Khushi's father added.

Hearing this, the village head thought for a while and then said, "If this is the case, then they must get married today after Rani and Rakesh’s marriage. This is our final decision, no more arguments." After announcing this, he walked off.

Khushi ran towards her room and burst into tears while Arnav walked to his mother and said, "Mom, I told you I don't want to marry her. She is five years younger than me. And upon all, she is my student, mom. How can I marry her? Please try to understand!"

"Arnav, don't be stubborn. Think carefully; if you refuse to marry, these people will punish you both without any fault. Do you want that? We don't have any other options. If not for yourself, at least think about Khushi," his mother tried to explain to him.

His mother's words made him think. She was right. If they did not marry today, they would be punished without any fault. Finally, he agreed to marry her. Reluctantly, he nodded, feeling the weight of the decision bearing down on him.

Khushi was crying, hugging her knees. She looked at the bridal dress that someone had left in the room, likely one of the village women who was sympathetic to her plight. The sight of the dress, with its intricate embroidery and delicate fabric, only made her situation feel more real and inescapable. She couldn't marry him. This was a forced marriage, and she couldn't spend her whole life with him. He was her professor, and it was very awkward for her to marry him.

Seeing her parents enter the room, she rushed toward them and pleaded, "Please don't do this to me. I can't marry him. Please!"

Her parents looked at her painfully; they had never forced her to do anything against her wishes.

Her mother embraced her tightly and said while stroking her hair, "Khushi, we never wanted you to get married in such a horrible way, but we don't have any other option, beta. They will punish you. Please!"

Khushi shook her head and refused to marry.

Khushi’s father cupped her face and said softly, "Khushi, I never forced you to do anything against your wish. Please do this for us. If you refuse to marry Arnav, they will..." He burst into tears and joined his hands in front of her.

Seeing her strong father like this, she held his hand and said, "Papa, please don't cry. I am ready for this marriage." Her father hugged her tightly and kissed her forehead.

As Khushi sat there, feeling the embrace of her father, her mind raced. She remembered all the moments she had spent in the village, the carefree days, the laughter, and the love. Now, everything seemed to be slipping away. She knew that this decision was not just about her; it was about protecting her family and their honor. The gravity of the situation weighed heavily on her, but she felt a small flicker of hope that maybe, somehow, things would work out.
