With Emmett not living far from base, he and Natasha headed home for the night.

Let's just say both of them were glad Genevieve's room was on the other side of the house. They had lost time to make up for, and they weren't wasting a minute of it.

To say they were both satisfied was an understatement.

So when Natasha woke up the next morning, she wasn't the least bit surprised that she was sore. (But she was good at hiding it. The last thing she needed was someone picking up on it, they would be relentless.)

But she rolled over, snuggling back into Emmett's arms. She couldn't help but smile as she felt his arms tighten ever so slightly around her as he began to wake up.

“Morning,” she whispered to him.

Emmett kept his eyes shut, lips brushing over her forehead before he spoke. “Go back to sleep.”

Natasha laughed, trying to sit up, but Emmett wouldn't let her move. “I've got to be on base soon. Don't really have a choice.”

He groaned, releasing her from his arms and opening his eyes. “Good morning to you too.”

Disregarding any morning breath she might have, he leaned in and kissed her. It had been a while since she was able to visit, having been stationed states away this last round.

Soon enough, they two were up and moving, although Natasha was the only one dressed. Emmett just had on some pajama pants, walking around the house shirtless.

(Natasha nearly jumped his bones again because how dare he look so attractive in pajama pants and a messy bed head.)

“So, I got to meet some of your team last night.”

Natasha hmm'd as she ate, gesturing for him to continue.

Emmett shrugged. “Definitely an arrogant bunch, but I knew that was coming. It was nice to see Rooster again, finally stateside the bastard.”

Natasha couldn't help but laugh. “I hit him with my pool cue the minute he got close enough. Apparently, he's been back for about a week, but nothing!”

Smiling, Emmett made a proposition. “We should have him around for dinner at some point. Just to catch up.”

Nat could only agree, always glad to be around her friend. And just as happy that he got along with her boyfriend as well.

“As for the arrogance,” Natasha started. “That would be from Bagman, sorry Hangman.” She rolled her eyes as she said his name.

“That's Bagman? Not what I was expecting. Definitely a pretty boy, though.”

“Ugh, please don't let him hear you say that. It'll feed his ego.”

They continue to eat in silence for a few moments before bringing the topic back around.

“You meet your backseat?” Emmett asked? It wasn't impossible, what with most of the detachment showing up to the bar last night.

Nat nodded her head. “Yeah, he was the guy with the glasses.” Now it was Emmett's turn to nod, remembering the man. “Callsign and name are Bob.”

A raised eyebrow is all she gets. “Hey, I don't know the story yet.”

But before anything else can happen, a voice yells out from the stairs.

“Tashi!”

A small body hurls itself towards the woman who quickly catches the small girl, lifting her up and spinning in a circle.

The two were practically inseparable when Natasha was home, the young girl attaching herself to Natasha's side.

Once the girl calms down, Emmett looks to his daughter. “Breakfast Munchkin. Then daycare.”

She tries to pout her way out of daycare, but it doesn't work.

“I've got work today, so does your father. But we can do something tonight, how about that?” Natasha proposes to hee.

Genevieve pretended to stroke a beard, having seen her father do it on numerous occasions before agreeing.

So after Emmett gets Gena a bowl of cereal, she sits at the table to eat. She babbles on about her days at daycare and what she had done at the end of school.

Natasha was diligently nodding her head, reacting at the appropriate spots, much to Emmett's amusement.

(She had noticed him hiding his laughter a few times, waiting until the girl's attention was elsewhere before flipping her boyfriend off. That would only send him into further laughter.)

“Oh, by the way,” Emmett says when it's clear Gena has finally stopped talking. “Liam said he might be able to come in for a little bit. He's not certain, but maybe two weeks from now? He's got to check his schedule.”

That made Natasha happy. Liam had become like her own little brother when she had first met him. Still fairly new to dating Emmett, Nat had met his brother by complete accident. Liam had shown up out of the blue while Natasha was over at the house, but that didn't deter either of them.

“Good. Hopefully, he's in before this mission. I have no idea the timeline for this thing.”

Natasha glanced at the clock. “Speaking of the mission, I've got to get ready.” She got up from the table, kissing Emmett's cheek before heading to the bedroom to get dressed.

Once she finished up, grabbing the last of her things, she went back downstairs only to hear Genevieve call out.

“Tashi, can you do my hair?”

She had time, so she had Genevieve go get her some hair ties. “What do you want, Gen?”

The girl thought for a moment. “Braids please.”

So Natasha got started, dividing the hair into two sections and making some French braid pigtails for the girl.

She looked absolutely precious, and Emmett, for all his skills, could not braid to save his life. So Genevieve really took advantage of Natasha's skills when she was home.

She finished up the braids, pressing a kiss to Genevieve's cheek. “I've got to go, but I'll see you later, okay?”

Genevieve nodded, pressing her own kiss to Nat's cheek. Natasha stood up, giving Emmett a proper kiss goodbye, although he didn't let her go when she began to pull away.

She laughed through the kiss, finally getting him to let go. “I've really got to go.”

Emmett sighed dramatically. “Fine,” he drawled. “I'll see you later. Stay safe, kick ass.”

She couldn't help it, pressing another chaste kiss to his lips.

“Always do.”
