-chapter thirty-
♡
"HEY JOHN." LAYLA SPOKE AS HE OPENED THE DOOR.
It had been two days since they had caught the men. And John and Bailey's wedding was only six days away.
"Layla! This is quite a surprise. Please come in." He stepped to the side allowing her to walk in.
She smiled brightly. "Sorry for popping in here out of nowhere. How have you guys been?"
The two of them paused slightly as they looked around his house, filled to the brim with wedding supplies.
"Busy."
"I'd expect nothing less, with your wedding only six days away."
They chuckled before John paused.
"What did you want to talk about?"
"I just wanted to ask you something."
John nodded. "Anything."
Layla sighed looking down. She had been thinking about what she had wanted to say to him for around a month as she didn't know exactly how to ask her question.
"Layla?" He asked.
Layla shook her head at herself since she had zoned out.
"My parents won't be at my wedding, as you know." John nodded.
"And you have been an amazing role model for me as my TO. You've been by my side at some very difficult moments of the job and I don't think I would have been able to get through anything I have, without you."
She sighed before she spoke softly looking up to John.
"So, I wanted to ask if you would walk me down the aisle, when the time comes." He gave her a shocked expression his mouth agape as his eyes began watering slightly.
"I know the wedding is a ways away but I've been thinking about this for a while now and if you aren't comfortable, I can walk down the aisle-" Layla began to ramble.
"No, no, no." He spoke interrupting her. "Layla, I would be absolutely honored to walk you down the aisle." Layla gave him a big smile as she began to tear up.
"That's great because, I wouldn't want anyone else walking me."
