The team glided over the city, maintaining a careful formation. Dreamer, Superman, and Supergirl flying together, with Batman being carried by Superman and Lightning on Dreamer's platform.
As they flew, Lightning spotted a familiar figure amidst the rubble below. "Wait, stop!" he called out to Dreamer, pointing towards the warehouse.
Dreamer glanced down and saw Harley. "Hold on!" She directed their platform lower, enough for Harley to climb aboard. However, the platform's size only allowed for two people comfortably.
"Guess it's piggyback time," Dreamer said with a playful grin, turning her back towards Lightning.
Lightning protested, "No. Hell no. no way, Nia. That's... embarrassing."
Dreamer rolled her eyes. "Suck it up, Lightning. We don't have time for this, they're gaining distance"
Lightning grumbled but eventually relented, climbing onto Dreamer's back. As he did, his arms wrapped around her, creating a subtly intimate moment between them. Harley climbed onto the platform, subliminally noting the closeness.
Harley, trying to lighten the mood, commented, "Nice hair, Sparky. When did you have time to turn it red?"
Lightning chuckled. "I'm in Chaos form, naturally the form changes my hair color to red and allow me other perks I plan to use on Supes once we get to our location."
"Anyway what happened to you?" Lightning asked observing Harley's bruises and burns.
"Between fighting Batman and then fighting Joker, I been through it." Harley giggled.
"Back to back and you survived? Not bad." Lightning said amused.
As they got back in the air and trailed behind the Supers, Harley introduced herself to Dreamer. "I'm Harley, by the way. The Harley Quinn."
Dreamer smiled. "Nice to meet you, Harley, Lightning talks about you frequently, I'm Dreamer, but you can call me Nia."
Harley grinned. "So, Nia, how'd you meet Sparky here?"
Nia glanced at Lightning before starting. "Well, the day Lightning broke up with Supergirl, he broke into my house. I'm pretty sure he was there to kill me, but instead, he found me crying. Since my then-boyfriend had just broken up with me, on my birthday. Lightning, probably had a change of heart seeing me like that and decided to have some fun."
Harley raised an eyebrow. "Wait, kill you?"
Nia looked at Lightning, her eyes amused. "You were there to kill me right?"
Lightning sighed. "Yeah. I was pretty messed up that day. But seeing you like that... I couldn't do it, you looked how I felt."
Harley looked at him, surprised. "Wow," Harley said. "That's... intense, so since you are here he obviously didn't kill ya. So?"
Nia continued, "So, instead of killing me, he compelled my roommate to get ice cream and cake for me. Then we toilet-papered my ex's house and found out he was cheating on me. Lightning made him clean it up and compelled his mom to kick him out and make him find a job. When we got back to my place, we celebrated my birthday with the ice cream and cake. That was the start of our friendship."
Harley laughed. "Sounds like a classic Lightning move."
Nia laughed "So, Harley, how did you meet Lightning?"
Harley smirked. "Well, I was a teenage therapist back then, known as Harlene. Lightning and Joker were good friends. He helped break Joker out of Arkham after I was convinced by the Joker to bring him guns. Later, when I became Harley Quinn, we met in passing a few times during Lightning's visits to Gotham. He flirted with me occasionally but we weren't buddy buddies. When Joker asked Lightning for a favor, Lightning usually did it and vice versa. One day Joker had me spy on Lightning during one of our mission instead Lightning turned the tables and tried to kill me instead. But he spared me and used me as a spy against Joker. When Joker found out, he beat me, and Lightning beat him in return. That marked the start of our beautiful friendship with benefits."
Lightning coughed.
Dreamer asked, "Did you enjoy working with Joker?"
Harley shrugged. "It was... chaotic. At first, it was fun, thrilling even. But it turned toxic quickly. He was manipulative, abusive. Lightning showed me there was more to life than being Joker's puppet."
Dreamer nodded. "Sounds like he saved you in more ways than one."
Harley smiled. "Yeah, he did. Even the se-"
"Okay you said enough." Lightning coughed again interrupted Harley who began laughing.
Supergirl, eavesdropping, felt a pang of jealousy. Superman noticed and tried to cheer her up. "Hey, want to tell me how you and Lightning met then?"
Kara smiled, her eyes softening at the memory. "Sure, we met at Cat Co. He was sitting on Cat Grant's table, bantering with her. I found him cute. Cat warned me about his charm. Later, after I saved a plane, he recognized me as Supergirl but didn't say anything. Instead, he flirted with me more and got to know me. Eventually, he jumped off the roof to make me reveal my identity by saving him. That's how our friendship started."
Superman smiled. "Sounds like he made quite an impression."
Supergirl nodded. "Yeah, he did. He was always so confident and charming."
Batman, still uncomfortable being carried, chimed in with his usual stoic tone. "Lightning has a knack for dramatic entrances."
Supergirl turned to Batman. "And how did you meet him?"
Batman's expression remained unreadable. "He was causing trouble in Gotham. I tracked him down, and we ended up working together, albeit reluctantly."
Supergirl pressed, "What did you team up against?"
Batman's eyes flickered with recognition. "The League of Assassins. He was useful in taking down some of their operations. Unpredictable, but effective."
Lightning, hearing Supergirl's recount, smiled fondly. "Good times."
The crew eventually landed in a barren desert, the perfect place for a showdown.
As they landed Lightning and Superman prepared to face each other, preparing for the fight as the others took their place at a distance.
Batman discreetly handed Superman a small listening device. Lightning noticed and sarcastically remarked, "Nice touch, Bruce. You planning on making a podcast out of this?"
Superman smiled wryly. "Just a precaution."
Lightning rolled his eyes. "Fine, whatever. Let the bat help you cheat."
Both Superman and Lightning moved further from the rest of the crew, tension building as they prepared to fight. Supergirl and Dreamer watched nervously.
Harley, curious, asked, "So, who do you think will win?"
Superman, calm and collected, began to prepare himself. "Let's not try and kill each other Lightning." he said, stepping into a ready stance.
Batman stood silent, his eyes narrowed as he observed both opponents. "It depends on the strategy," he finally said, his voice low.
"Then don't hold back Clark, or I just might kill you." Red Aura slowly started spilling out of Lightning.
Supergirl, worried, chimed in after Batman. "I just hope they don't kill each other."

In a dark, hidden location, a sinister aura filled the air. A girl, completely naked with hair strategically falling to hide her exposed areas, watched the unfolding scene from afar. Her eyes glinted with dark amusement.
"This is going to be interesting. Let's see how Superman can handle a little bit of chaos." Her eerie laughter echos through the air.
