Rage

The rage that tore through Superman was like nothing he had felt before. Seeing the explosion where Batman once stood, his mind filled with a singular, all-consuming thought: Lightning had killed Bruce. A piercing roar of anger ripped from his throat, echoing across the ruined landscape that put a smile into Lightning's face, and with it, Superman's restraint shattered completely. His eyes blazed with fury, heat vision flaring as he charged at Lightning with a speed and power that shook the very ground beneath them.

Lightning barely had time to react, his body instinctively moving to block Superman's first strike. But the sheer force behind Superman's blow sent him skidding back then flying into a roof, his feet dug trenches into the concrete roof. Superman was relentless, a blur of motion as he unleashed a torrent of punches, each one powerful enough to level a mountain. Lightning duck and weaved out the way avoiding getting hit by those blows, blocking the unavoidable ones creating shockwaves with each block.

Lightning's cloak of shadows rippled and expanded, evolving to match the ferocity of the battle. The once simple hooded cloak morphed, growing into a sleeveless trench coat of living darkness. The edges of the coat flowed and shifted like tendrils, while an ethereal tail of shadow extended behind him, twitching with every movement. Lightning's hair, now fully coated in an impossibly deep black, whipped around his face as he parried and countered Superman's brutal onslaught.

But even with his newfound speed and the defensive abilities granted by the darkness, Superman's raw power began to overwhelm Lightning. A particularly devastating punch sent Lightning crashing through the top floors of the skyscraper, debris raining down as the building shuddered under the impact.

Lightning knew he needed more power. He knew what he had to do. As he staggered to his feet amidst the rubble, he wiped blood from his mouth, his eyes blazing with determination. "If I have to destroy myself to kill you, then so be it." His voice was low, filled with a deadly resolve. He clasped his hands together in a symbol, and his aura flared violently, crackling with chaotic energy, then the aura around his body disappeared leaving behind only the aura outfit and tail.

"Forbidden Seal... Release." The words carried with them the weight of something ancient and terrible.

A shockwave of energy erupted from Lightning, the force of it tearing through the remains of the building and sending a visible ripple through the air. Crimson tribal tattoos began to snake across his body, glowing fiercely against his skin. The tattoos pulsed with power, synchronizing with the erratic beat of his heart, as if feeding on the energy he was unleashing. The air around Lightning grew heavier, thicker, as if reality itself was straining under the weight of the power he was calling upon.

Lightning eyes appeared to glow. "Finally, I'm free"

Lightning surged forward, re-engaging Superman with renewed ferocity. This time, his blows landed with devastating effect. Each punch carried the force of a hurricane, each kick the power of a tectonic shift. Superman, for the first time, visibly winced as Lightning's fists connected, however Lightning's bones began creaking under the pressure. Blood splattered from Superman's nose, and the sound of cracking bone echoed across the battlefield. The ground trembled under their feet, the sheer intensity of their clash threatening to tear the landscape apart.

Lightning's attacks became more precise, more deadly. His hand crackled with lightning as he concentrated his energy into a single, focused strike. The power coalesced into a blade-like form, crackling with pure chaos and dark energy, the electricity making the air itself hum with tension. It was as if he held a weapon forged from the very essence of destruction.

"Die" Lightning said as he lunged at Superman, his hand a blur of lethal intent, aimed directly at Superman's heart. But as the attack closed in, mere centimeters from Superman's chest, Lightning's body betrayed him. The crimson tattoos that marked his skin suddenly dimmed and disappeared, and the energy that had surged through him faltered. His muscles seized up, and a horrifying sound filled the air the shattering of multiple bones. Lightning's joints gave out under the strain, his body collapsing in on itself as the power he had been wielding dissipated into nothing. The force of the form giving out sent Lightning flying away from Superman as he skated across the ground.

Superman dropped to his knees, breathing heavily, sweat and blood mingling on his skin. He had narrowly escaped death once again. His mind raced, trying to process how close he had come to losing everything. But there was no time to dwell on it.

Wonder Woman, seeing Lightning vulnerable and seemingly incapacitated, made her move. She leaped into the air, her sword gleaming as she aimed to finish the fight. But before she could strike, a massive, meteor-like aura descended from the sky, slamming into the ground between her and Lightning with enough force to send a shockwave across the battlefield.

A cloud of smoke and dust billowed out from the impact, obscuring the figure within. As the smoke cleared, the first thing visible was a cascade of white hair, glowing faintly in the dim light. The figure turned, revealing a young woman with striking features—long, waist-length hair that shimmered with a purple hue, and piercing crimson eyes that seemed to radiate power. Her presence was overwhelming, and even Wonder Woman hesitated, taken aback by the sheer force of it.

Lightning, barely conscious, stared at the figure in disbelief. "Keyshia...?" he whispered weakly, but as the figure stepped forward, he realized his mistake. "No... it can't be... Yuuna?"

The woman—Yuuna Xiva—smiled, but there was a deadly seriousness in her eyes. As Wonder Woman attempted to press forward, Yuuna raised a hand, and with a mere gesture, a forcefield of energy blasted out, sending Wonder Woman crashing into Superman, who had only just risen to his feet. The impact sent both of them sprawling, caught completely off-guard by the sheer power of the attack.

Yuuna turned her attention to Lightning, her expression softening as she approached him. "It's been a while, hasn't it, Lighty?" Her voice was warm, familiar, laced with a hint of affection that spoke of their long and complicated history.

Lightning managed a weak smile, his body trembling with pain. "Too long, Yuuna. But... how did you find me?"

Yuuna knelt beside him, her eyes scanning his injuries with a mix of concern and admiration. "I saw the news, heard about your little spat with Superman. Thought I'd drop by and see the show, but when I got to Metropolis, you guys had already left. A civilian pointed me in the general direction, and when I saw that shadowy portal, I knew it had to be your doing." "Besides no matter where you are in the universe, I'll always find you." She tilted her head, a playful glint in her eyes. "Are we shattering reality again, Lightning?"

Lightning chuckled, though it quickly turned into a wince of pain. "You know me, gotta go out with a bang."

Yuuna's smile faded slightly as she assessed his condition. "How long do you need to heal?"

Lightning hesitated, his pride wrestling with the reality of his situation. "Twenty-four hours...I can't continue this fight, guess big blue wins"

Yuuna's eyes narrowed, and without hesitation, she bit into her wrist, her blood flowing freely. "No stupid, I saw that ending if your body didn't give up you would have won. How long do you need with my blood?"

Lightning watched, a mix of gratitude and resignation in his eyes. "Five minutes, give or take."

She offered her wrist to him, her voice firm. "Then drink. I'll keep them busy while you recover and you finish that fight."

The taste of her blood sent a jolt of energy through Lightning, a surge of strength that made him sit up straighter, the pain receding. He felt the broken bones beginning to mend, the torn muscles knitting back together. Yuuna's blood was potent, filled with power and the shared memories of their past.

As she stood, her eyes locked onto the approaching forms of Superman and Wonder Woman, who had recovered from the earlier blast. Yuuna's aura flared, a brilliant mix of purple and red, as she prepared to face them.

Lightning, feeling the energy coursing through him, smirked. "Don't underestimate them, They're tougher than they look."

Yuuna glanced back at him, a mischievous smile playing on her lips. "You just focus on healing, Lighty. I've got this, if there's anyone in this universe that can defeat you, it's me."
