That agonizing, inhumane scream... was that really Jungkook?
Jimin felt as if his brain had turned numb. Ever since he watched that headline news in the police station... ever since he rushed to the Captain to ask for leave until he raced here within the shortest time possible, everything was very surreal. His steps were light and floating as if he was drifting amidst a very realistic nightmare and oh, how he wished everything was merely a nightmare...
He wished that he had just fallen asleep in the police station and when he woke up, he would find Jungkook's message in his phone, telling him that he had arrived home safely and wishing him good night.
He badly wished that everything was only a dream, but when he heard this tormented roar that sounded both familiar yet foreign at the same time, he was instantly jolted out of his trance. Icy fear started to coil around his neck and choke his breath. It was real.
Everything was not a dream...
Jungkook, he was--
Jimin had not even reacted yet when Jackson whispered a desperate 'fuck'. Then the crimson-haired man briskly rushed down the hallway, forgetting that he had someone by his side. Jimin could only follow him quietly with his fists clenched tight, his face ghastly pale.
This soul-numbing dread that chilled him down to the core was awfully familiar... so familiar that Jimin felt like he was going crazy.
No... he couldn't lose Jungkook again. Not again...!
Jackson barged into the monitor room with a furious look on his face. "What the hell is going on here?!!"
"Docter Wang...!"
There were a few people inside the room, all wearing either white coats or scrubs, but Jimin could not afford to identify them one by one. All of his attention was immediately drawn to the wide computer screen in front of him.
In an instant, his whole body was petrified on the spot. The rims of his eyes turned red.
He could see his Alpha there, lying on the bed inside the confinement room. He had both his hands and feet tied on the steel bed frame with leather belts, restricting his movement as he thrashed around wildly. His struggle was apparent even through the screen. The green and blue veins on his arms flared out as he tried to free himself, but it looked like the belts had been created specifically for this purpose because it firmly trapped him in place. He was akin to a fish on chopping board who could only writhe and squirm to no avail.
With his black hair in utter disarray and his clothes disheveled, he painted a completely different image from the steadfast and charming Alpha in Jimin's memory. Gone was his gentle and courteous look. Right now, he looked utterly savage as if he was out for blood.
But it was not the thing that shattered Jimin's heart into millions of pieces.
It was... the muzzle on his face. They even put a muzzle on Jungkook's face as if... as if he was some kind of mindless beast and not a human being!
Jackson took the words right out of his mouth. He could not even bother to be polite anymore. "What the fuck?! I didn't ask you to restrain him! You... You even put a muzzle on him! Do you think he's a fucking dog-?!" He was so angry that his chest heaved arduously, causing more blood to seep into the bandage.
Meilin tried to reason with him. "Docter Wang, calm down-"
"How the fuck am I supposed to calm down?!" Jackson snapped at her and made her flinch in shock.
"Don't take your anger out on them. It's me who decided to do this."
Hearing Yoongi's calm yet hoarse voice from the doorway was akin to pouring gasoline on the blazing anger in Jackson's heart. He swiveled around with a murderous look on his face. "Yoongi, you fucker-"
