Virgo opens her closet and scrutinizes her outfits, "Which of these should I wear?" She holds up a red and a dark blue dress. She mutters under her breath, "The men have it so easy. All they have to do is put on a suit."
Libra examines both dresses, finally settling on the blue one, "You'd look beautiful in both, but if I were you, I'd pick the blue one. It complements your skin tone and your hair."
Virgo nods, putting the red dress back in her closet, "Thanks."
Libra simply nods as she continues to curl her hair.
"You like Cancer, don't you?" Virgo suddenly asks, causing Libra to accidentally burn the tip of her finger which had a thick strand of hair around it.
"C-Cancer?" Libra stutters and Virgo doesn't fail to notice how Libra's composure falters, "No, I don't."
"Sure," Virgo replies.
In the room across from theirs, Aquarius and Cancer were getting ready.
Cancer had her short, black hair let down, and she was gently brushing it. Her red dress made her look absolutely gorgeous, the off-shoulder design, perfectly complementing her short hair.
Aquarius was in the front of the room, facing the mirror, in a little black dress, off-shouldered just like Cancer's, "What should I do with my hair?" She says, looking at her mid-length, dark brown, wavy hair.
"I think you should put it into a low messy bun, and then curl up all the strands that stick out." Cancer says.
Aquarius begins to do that, tying her hair into a low bun, and after that, she curls up the two strands of hair that she pulled out in the front, the waves of the strands framing her face.
Aquarius starts working on her eyes, applying mascara as Cancer puts on foundation. Right then, the door opens and a tall guy in a suit walks in.
Cancer flinched as Aquarius glanced at her boyfriend in the mirror before continuing to apply the mascara, "Ever heard of knocking, Scorp?"
"Yes, but I'm your boyfriend, already seen all there is to see." He says, walking towards his girlfriend.
"God, I wish I didn't hear that." Cancer says, holding up the eyeliner, "Someone cleanse my ears."
"True, but Cancer shares this room with me, look at her, you traumatised the poor thing," Aquarius says, putting the mascara down, picking up the red lipstick and applying it.
"Sorry, Cancer," Scorpio says, looking at the black-haired girl, who was now working on her lips too, going for the red lipstick.
Cancer simply nods, Aquarius puts the lipstick down and then looks at Scorpio, a small smile engraved on her face, "The suit does you justice."
Scorpio smirks, "Not half the justice the black dress does you."
"Guys, seriously, get a room." Cancer scoffs.
"Sorry, babe." Aquarius apologises to her best friend, then looks back at Scorpio, "Why'd you come here?"
"I just wanted to see you," Scorpio says, smiling.
Over in the room beside Aquarius's and Cancer's, Gemini and Pisces were all done and dusted. They put effort into looking good, obviously, but then realised that they're just the minds and fists of this plan.
"I'm honestly kind of scared," Gemini says, "I mean, it's the Lucifer, we're talking about."
Pisces looks away from the mirror and then walks toward Gemini who was sitting on the bed, she sits beside her and holds her hand, "Hey, it'll be fine. We've never messed up any of our missions."
"Yeah, I know, but this-"
"It's sort of different, I know." Pisces sighs, and then smiles, "But that's what we came here for. The exhilaration."
Gemini nods, "Yeah, yeah, of course." She shrugs herself off, "Sorry, I don't know what came over me."
"It's the last-minute nerves, I get them often." Pisces says, "It happens to the best of us, you don't have to apologize."
Gemini smiles, then stands up, "We're gonna ace this."
"Hell yeah."
The two signs headed down, where the guys were already roaming around. Pisces watched as Aries fixed his tie, and then, his eyes suddenly met hers. She immediately looked away, flustered. Aries sighed at the short interaction, if you can even call it that, and then continued to work on his tie.
Gemini watched her boyfriend walking around like a headless chicken, "Sage, what are you doing?"
"I can't tie my tie properly." Sagittarius pouted, pointing at his tie.
"C'mere," Gemini says as he walks over to her.
Taurus, who looked perfectly chiselled in his suit, was by the island in the kitchen, drinking a cup of water. His eyes suddenly fell on Cancer as she walked down the stairs, and he nearly choked on the water.
Leo, who was beside him, raised a brow, "You good?"
"W-what?" Taurus said, eyes still on Cancer, "Yeah, yeah, I'm fine."
Leo followed Taurus's gaze and his eyes landed on Cancer, "Ah, but of course."
Cancer walked into the kitchen followed by Aquarius and Scorpio, and this time, it was Leo who choked mentally on absolutely nothing.
Scorpio walked over to grab a glass of water and Aquarius smiled at Cancer, who was trying not to stare at Taurus but failed miserably.
Aquarius's eyes then met with Leo's, and he held the gaze. Her eyes left his when Scorpio walked over to her and wrapped his arm around her waist.
Leo looked away. Get a grip, goddammit.
The five zodiacs left the kitchen when they heard Ophiuchus's voice calling for them, coming from the living room. All twelve zodiacs briefly sat on the sofas, looking at their leader.
"Review the plan," Ophiuchus says.
"Alright," Scorpio starts, "All of us enter the mansion, and Cancer, Leo, Aquarius, and I have to charm our way into getting fingerprints and other keys to the door that leads to the HOPC-"
"While you do that," Taurus cuts Scorpio off, "We have to sneak into the security room and get them out of the way. Then, you send the variable keys to us, and we modify them and send them to the Fists team, and while they're at it, we delete footage of them and disable any traps."
"And Aries, Sagittarius, Pisces and I do what we have to do," Capricorn says.
"Perfect." Ophiuchus smiles, "Let's get this shit done."
They leave the house and all twelve zodiacs pile into Ophiuchus's limousine. Ophiuchus chose to drive, and the signs sat in silence as they were driven to the mansion. The sun was setting outside, and that made sense, considering the party was scheduled to begin at six in the evening.
The twelve thieves gasped as the limo rolled into the humungous front yard with a giant water fountain in the middle of it. Trees aligned the perimeter of the yard and the streetlights lit the path for the limousine.
Ophiuchus rolled the limo to a halt in front of the mansion. The signs took in a deep breath as they watched other guests walk into the house. Ophiuchus pulls out a box of masks for the masquerade party that was on the seat beside him and he hands it to them, stretching out.
"Make sure your earpieces are not visible to anyone else," Ophiuchus says.
The signs held the masks that matched the colour of their respective clothing and looked at each other for a brief moment before nodding at their leader.
"Good luck."
