CHAPTER 20

Felipe stop drinking i said . Don't worry about him M it does him more good than harm . What do you mean . For once he'll get enough rest than he usually does . Ohh but...besides this is like a once in a year thing for him he said cutting me off .

So you guys are dating huh Felipe said . Damien kept quiet but I definently did not . We are not i said . For some reason i didn't want to say it knowing that Damien likes me . And  i could see him lower his head . It's late let's go to bed Damien said . I'll show you your room first M he said .
Uhh no how about we take care of this mess first i said .

Fine Damien said running his hand over his face . I can walk myself Felipe said but he was definently tipsy . Let's go Fil Damien said putting Felipe's hand over his shoulder . We finally got to his room and put him in bed . And Damien showed me my room .

My clothes were already there so I took a shower and jumped in bed . Minutes later i could hear a knock on my door and attended to it . Felipe dragged himself in and locked the door . I asked you Miranda who is J he said and he didn't at all look drunk . He is just a crush i used to have in high school a stupid one i said .

Good cause it will always stay stupid he said . And Miranda you seem to forget that I'm not your friend so stop trying to play over my head otherwise it won't end well for you he said and he left . His words left me thinking of the worst for a minute i forgot I'm a kidnapper's host and now I'm playing house with these people . I have to find a way out before its too late.

I woke up late today probably i kept myself up with Felipe's words . I lazily walked downstairs and the air had a mixed aroma of bacon , eggs and pancakes and that smell led me to the kitchen i rubbed my eyes only to regret it . I immediately bumped into someone and from how it felt it was a male . I stopped rubbing and properly looked at the person .

Ohh you're up late Assandro said . And I only hummed . I walked over to the living room and threw myself onto the couch and bringing up my legs . I pulled the blanket that was put by the couch probably for esthetic and covered myself . And before i knew it i fell asleep .

My eyes snapped open as i felt something jump into the couch and it was Milo . And he made himself comfortable around me and shut his eyes . Me and him thought the same and i followed as well .

I wanted to yell at whoever was banging something against my ear . I looked over to find an unamused Ella . Would you wake up i have been calling you for the last 15 minutes
She said . What time is it i said . It's about twelve am now get up . But I still want to sleep . Do you want Andre to eat your breakfast . What no , no i will eat i said getting up .

Good and i won't be around so dont look for me and Britney okay . Okay i said . I walked over to the kitchen and grabbed my food slowly I settled my body into the chair my body was quite sore from that trip and the bed isn't as comfy as the one before .

Once i was done i walked back to the living room and watched some tv i really wasn't a tv person but watching it once in a while was good for me , it drowns all the depression those books gave me . And after thirty minutes I fell asleep .

Felipe's point of view

I don't get how , how could i be so foolish . I let myself get fooled by a girl . I am running a whole mafia here and i could never notice the little leach that's been sucking me dry .

Damien walked in . What did you call me for he said . We have a spy in our Mafia . What he straightened up . And I believe it's Miranda . No there is no way he said . I once caught her in my  room claiming that she was looking for a lighter i said leaning over the table . Have you seen any weird behaviour in her I continued . I did find her in your room and she claimed that she was looking for you he said .

And that day at the library i might have stopped her plan but now we need to get rid of her I said rising . I understand Damien said . But what if she isn't the spy he said . She is the only one we don't properly know and she's only been here a few weeks , i should have gotten rid of her when I had the chance now we have deal with the aftermath i said .

So should i get rid of her Damien said . No leave her to me I want to deal with her slowly I said leaning back on the chair . Anything you say boss Damien said looking upset i get that he grown fond of her . And I did as well . But I was foolish to think i could love again .

From all the research i made about her she seems to be leaning into the dark side more . Her uncle seems to works for the Russians . That might explain why she knows so much about the Mafia . And if then i just let in an enemy into my Mafia .

I took out the file i have been working on that's about her . Her parents really were murdered and probably because they were in a Mafia all I know is the confirmation of her uncle working for the Mafia . But should I really consider the theory that she might not be involved and if so I'd be making a huge mistake .

Honestly she is an extraordinary person or that's just the face she puts on . And...I just don't know what to say anymore . But one thing is clear i'm not going to let a little girl take down my Mafia .

I have done a research about all the people that are associated with her and her uncle . So far her line of people she aligned with are on the clear . And her uncle is a bit shady . It seems like he appeared in Miranda's life three years after her parents death . Anything before that is, nothing no cat , no dog , nothing . One thing is clear this man is a ghost .

He dissapeared again after living with Miranda for five years and he went by a fake name . Looks like I have to dig into him more in anyway . One thing i got is that he seemed to be involved with a woman called Martha so she will be my first lead . And with the information i got , she worked in a club in LA called Appetizer .

She has one daughter named Gwendolyn and she is sixteen years old . He dated with her for about four years and it seemed to be a serious relationship . That seemed to be all i could get about him .

And just as i was going to check another file . My phone ringed . Jacob i said . You were right the place was attacked but not by the Russians he said . Then who i said . By the rookie Mafia roaming into your territory . WHAT i said immediately getting off the chair . Well done Jacob I said and hanged up.

These rookies are more dangerous than i thought . They appeared right around the time i got a hold of Miranda meaning that she is the inside woman for them . I really messed up and if my father finds out about this he is going to flip .

And just then Damien walked back in
What is it now Damien i said rubbing my eyes . Your father is here Felipe he said . Now all has broke loose . And he he is with Miranda he continued . I needed a drink to ease down this feeling . Okay then let's go .

When I got to the living room i saw my father sitting down with Miranda and weirdly he seems to be fond of her . That's surprising knowing that my father does not take kindly to strangers .

Father i see you have meet Miranda . Ohh yes now this is what you call a good catch Felipe he said . And why is that i replied . Well for one i know her father . You do . Yes I do we used to be in partnership back in the days and i met little Miranda just when she was five a sweetheart she is . Was she i questioned . Yeah she once came up to me while i was in a meeting with her father and offered me a cookie .

So you knew her father well i asked him . Ohh yes very much we even grabbed drinks when we could . Why are you here , i presume business . No i came to see who the wife is , i did tell you take full control of my position so you better not screw it up . I heard you loud and clear about that but for now can we speak in private .

He followed me into my office and sat down on my chair . What is it he said . Miranda's father i want to know more about him i said putting my hands in my pocket . What do you want to know . Wife , kids , siblings , business and his wife's siblings and wether or not was he in the Mafia .

No he was not in the Mafia , he had only a sister and two children , his wife does not have any siblings and he owned JDE corporate . Okay then their names i said . Catharn Dacoda and Luke Dacoda they were murdered in their home on 16th of June . That's all I said . Why do you ask he said . I want to know her parent's killers i said .

Do you love her he said . I'd rather have that unanswered i said . He got up and walked past me . Ohh and your sister is here he said leaving .
