It's come to my attention that Wattpad has been randomly rearranging the chapters of this book. I've made several attempts to correct the issue and have reached out to Wattpad Support for assistance.

This is Chapter 4. If you haven't reached this point in the story yet, reading further may spoil important plot points.

Thank you for your understanding and patience as I work to resolve this. I apologize for any confusion this may cause.

As you stepped through the cobblestone streets of Jarlaheim, the air was thick with the promise of rain. Dark clouds loomed overhead, casting a moody shadow over the bustling city. The occasional rumble of distant thunder added to the atmosphere, making the hairs on your neck stand on end.

Earlier, you had finished running errands with Linda, and now you found yourself walking from her house alone, the sound of your footsteps echoing softly against the stone path.

Around you, Jarlaheim was alive with activity. Merchants called out from their stalls, offering wares ranging from riding gear to freshly baked goods. You caught faint, occasional whiffs of gasoline from passing cars. And yet, the scent of the city mixed with the earthy aroma of wet cobblestones created a comforting contrast to the impending storm.

As you continued walking through the streets of Jarlaheim, ready to leave the city, a flicker of movement caught your eye.

Turning towards the main square, you noticed a gathering of people huddled together, their attention fixed on something or someone in the center.

Curiosity piqued, you made your way through the crowd, careful not to jostle anyone as you edged closer to the heart of the gathering. As you approached, the sound of a familiar voice reached your ears.

Ydris' charm appeared unchanged from your previous encounter, his dark hair neatly styled beneath his polished black top hat, his attire exuding an air of elegance and showmanship.

The crowd watched in awe as Ydris performed his magic tricks with finesse and flair. He effortlessly manipulated cards, wavered illusions that defied explanation, and mesmerized the audience. His movements were precise, every gesture calculated to enhance the mystery and wonder of his performance.

Beside Ydris stood a short, round man, his face concealed behind a unique mask. He showed no expression, although his jester's hat, two-toned in purple on top and magenta on the bottom, added a whimsical touch to his appearance. The mask itself was blue with an intricate yellow border of curls, featuring small vertical slits for eye holes and a small black hole for the mouth.

As Ydris concluded his final trick with a flourish, the crowd erupted into enthusiastic applause, their admiration filling the square. Ydris bowed graciously, his gaze sweeping over the audience with a warm smile of gratitude.

Amidst the dispersing crowd, your eyes met Ydris' for a brief moment.

You felt a flush of warmth spread across your cheeks as you realized he had noticed you amidst the sea of faces. His smile deepened slightly, a glint of mischief dancing in his eyes as if he understood the effect he had on you.

Then, he stepped forward, took off his hat, and pressed it against his chest.

"Thank you, everyone," He spoke with a voice that carried effortlessly through the square. He then pointed to Xin with his hat, "For joining us today and sharing in the magic. As a token of appreciation, Xin will be handing out tickets to our first circus show. It's a special occasion, the first show is free of charge!"
