TW: suicidal thoughts, suicide attempt
the people driving by just assume she's admiring the view. people walking past could hear the distant sounds of music playing from her headphones. she turns up the music so thoughts don't intrude.
people would beg for more years added onto their lives, yet she begged for her life to be taken.
she gets lost in her thoughts. her body moves for her, to the edge.
not a single car stops for her. not because they don't care, but because she's not worth saving if she doesn't want to be saved.
standing on the edge of the bridge gives her a clear view of the water beneath her. she can imagine herself sinking to the bottom, finally being at peace.
Forever Winter by Taylor Swift starts playing in her headphones.
"too young to know it gets better."
seven words. seven words lead her to take a step. but not off the bridge and into the water, but back onto the sidewalk.
she is too young to know it gets better. and from that moment on, she started living.
she made it to 16.
