Christopher Harington, professionally known as Kit Harington, is an English actor who isbest known for his role as Jon Snow in Game of Thrones, the show's success surging his popularity in writing and roleplay communities as a popular fantasy or period faceclaim. Yet, his inappropriate comparisons involving Palestinians and his continued silence on the Palestinian genocide show not only a lack of personal growth but reflect Zionistic behavior that makes him a questionable choice as a faceclaim.
In a 2015 interview with Vulture, Kit discussed major plot points that happened in Game of Thrones. When on the topic of the two warring factions, The Night's Watch and the Wildings, he makes the horrible and wild-ass comparison of these two FANTASY groups to the occupation of Palestine by Israel. He compared the acceptance of Wildings into the Seven Kingdoms to "Israel letting through a whole bunch of Palestinians" and vice versa, calling them "two warring factions" much like the Night's Watch and the Wildings. Equating the Israeli occupation to the mutual hatred between two fantastical entities and likening Palestinians to a group of people labeled as "savages" in the show is dehumanizing to Palestinians and degrades the real-world genocide and struggles Palestinian people have been facing for many decades.
Since Kit does not have social media, it is unknown what his exact stance is nowadays. However, his silence on the matter through the multitude of interviews he has done with major newspaper and magazine companies can be taken as Zionistic, as he never apologized for his comments. It is also worth noting that his wife, actress Rose Leslie, is a Tory or aligns with the beliefs of the Conservative Party in the UK. Many members of the UK Conservative Party have shown support for Israel and are affiliated to the parliamentary group Conservative Friends of Israel, which has received funding from Zionist organizations such as the World Zionist Organization.
