What animal do you think of when you hear the word 'wise'?

Most people associate owls with wisdom. In stories, they're often portrayed as smart and knowledgeable. Maybe it's because owls are seen as wise in different cultures and folklore. Or maybe it's because of Harry Potter.

What animal do you think of when you hear the word 'sly'?

When it comes to being sneaky and clever, foxes take the cake. They're often shown as cunning and sly characters in stories. Maybe it's because of European fairy tales and fables that often have tricky foxes. Or maybe it's because of Dora the Explorer.

What animal do you think of when you hear the word 'clever'?

Humans.

Just kidding.

Stupidity is #trending nowadays.

Rabbits are often seen as clever and resourceful characters in stories. One famous example is Br'er Rabbit, a tricky rabbit from African folklore.

Put that all together and you get the most random story I've ever created to have a puppet show with my younger cousin, Kame.

Even though Kame went to therapy (because of Mari), he was still paranoid at night, so his parents had to be there for him for him to sleep.

Tonight, though, his parents had to go to a restaurant to celebrate their boss' birthday, so they called me to babysit him for the time being. Yaay.

"Two smart bunnies are out walking when they get cau--"

"What are their names?" Kame asked, interrupting my narration.

"Um... Nene and Kohane. Anyway, they're out walking when they get caught by a fox--"

"What's the fox's name?"

"Swiper. Now, instead of just eating them, Swiper decides to do something else--"

"MR. SWIPER IS GOING TO EAT THE BUNNIES??"

"...That's just life, I guess."

"But I don't want them to die!!"

Well, Kame's crying now. How do I...

"Hey, before you judge anything, let me finish the story first, hm?" I suggested, trying to calm Kame down. He nodded, wiping away his tears with the back of his hand.

"Now, instead of eating them," Ignore the tearful expression Kame has, Ritsu... "Swiper will test their friendship with a tough choice. He'll ask each bunny if they would choose to Spare or Sacrifice--"

"WHAT??" Kame suddenly exclaimed, his voice filled with disbelief. I deadpanned at him before he quickly composed himself and apologized. "Sorry, Ritsu... Your story is really scary..."

"It's okay," I reassured him. "I understand. But trust me, there's more to it. Just hear me out." I gave him an encouraging smile.

"If both choose to spare each other," I explained, "the fox will only eat one limb from each bunny." I could see Kame's eyes widening, his curiosity piqued despite his previous distress.

"But if one chooses to spare while the other sacrifices, the one who spares will be fully eaten, while the traitor will escape with all their limbs." The room fell silent for a moment, the weight of the decision sinking in.

"Finally," I said, mustering the courage to continue, "if both choose to sacrifice, the fox will eat three limbs from each bunny." I took a deep breath, preparing for Kame's inevitable question.
