I walked into school the next morning to see that all the students were whispering about me.

"That's the girl who scared Chloé so much, she rejected her Akuma!"

"I can't believe someone like that is in this school!"

"She's so scary..."

"She made Chloé cry as well. No one ever managed to make Chloé cry!"

I hummed as the mindless gossip flowed around me. I was never into mindless rumors but if this help me remain ostracized, then I'm fine with it.

I entered my class to see all my classmates staring at me.

"What?" I said.

Everyone looked away, suddenly interested in something else, and I made it to my desk in the back without any more interruption.

I pulled out Rebecca and continued reading.

"Mademoiselle Rossi?"

Looking up, I saw Madame Mendeleiev's scruffy aubergine hair poking through the doorway. The science teacher looked at me with mistrust and apprehension.

"Yes, Madame?" I answered politely.

"Principal Damoclès would like to see you," Madame Mendeleiev said. She stood there, waiting.

Immediately, the room burst into whispers around me. I ignored it all as I packed my bag, pondering. What does that clumsy old fool want with me?

Madame Mendeleiev led me through the hallways toward the principal's office. On the way there, students and teachers paled upon seeing me and hastily moved out of my path. I fought back my delight, managing to mask my smile.

But inside Damoclès' office, my good mood evaporated.

Principal Damoclès was sitting behind his grand desk, and one of the chairs before it was occupied. Chloé, sniffing and blowing her nose into a handkerchief, glared at me resentfully as the office door closed behind me. Her father, at her shoulder, seemed equally ire.

This fucking bitch.

Sabrina and her father were standing in a corner like a pair of guard dogs, hovering over the Bourgeoises, wearing similar huffy and self-righteous expressions. I rolled my eyes as I took a seat.

"Yes, sir?" I said sweetly. My anger was boiling, but I managed to keep it under control. "You wanted to see me?"

"Mademoiselle Rossi," Principal Damoclès said, his fingers steepled toward me. "Some concerning stories have come to my attention. Is it true that you attacked Chloé and Sabrina outside the school?"

So, we're doing this? This daddy's girl wasn't getting her way this time.

"Principal Damoclès," I said. "I never attacked Chloé or Sabrina. I don't understand why I'm here."

"That's a lie!" Chloé shrieked, jumping in. "This girl bullied me! She hit me and pushed me to the floor and made me cry!" She fell into her father's arm, uncontrollably sobbing while he comfortingly rubbed at her back.

"She – she threw ice-cream at me!" Sabrina said, pointing her finger at me.

1, 2, 3, I counted in my head.

"Do you have proof?" I asked.

"Proof?" Chloé spluttered. "Proof? We don't need proof! Principal Damoclès, I demand you expel this girl right now. She hurt me, she devastated me, every second of being around her is torture to me. I want her gone!"

"Is this how Françoise Dupont treats bullied victims?" Mayor Bourgeois scolded. "Look at the state of my little princess! Denis, I'm disappointed in you. I want to know how you could even admit a student like this in the first place!
