paige and amaya waiting patiently by the blonde's phone, anticipating a call that could determine paige's future. after a while of waiting, paige got fed up.

"amaya, i don't think he's calling." she said, slumping into her seat, groaning. this is not what she pictured today would be like.

when paige imagined this day three years ago, cornelia would be right by her side, and would be the first person she would celebrate with.

"paige, you have to be patient it's not even 6:30 yet!" amaya said, throwing her hands into the air, annoyed at her friend's impatience.

paige had to agree with her, she was being impatient but to be fair she had been waiting all day. geno auriemma, the coach at uconn, had come to her game a few days ago. he had said that he would call at 6:30 on monday night, and let her know he had some thinking to do.

just thinking about the conversation made paige nervous, some thinking to do?, what was there to think about?

the two friends had been waiting for 10 minutes, and when it hit 6:35, paige started to tweak out.

"are you seriously kidding me? this has to be a joke. how- how do they not want me? this has to be a misunderstanding, i'm calling him." paige said, growing angry, but also confused.

she started to type in his number, when the phone rung. she threw her phone up into the air, getting startled. amaya caught the phone, "ANSWER PAIGE!!" she yelled, laughing at her friend.

paige took back the phone, and almost drops it because she was shaking. "hello?" paige asked, looking at amaya, while she fidgeted with her hands.

amaya told her to put it on speaker, her curiosity growing. paige obliged, placing the phone down at the table.

"well paige.. after that game on friday, i think the answers pretty clear.." geno said, as paige and amaya looked at each other, carefully.

"yeah?" paige said, her voice shaking, as she continued to fidgeted with her hands.

"i have a question for you." geno said, waiting for the blonde's response.

"what is it?..." paige asked hesitantly, as her and amaya started to get up off the couch.

"how would you like to play for uconn?" geno said, and immediately heard screams come from the other line.

paige and amaya were jumping around celebrating, as geno waited a a minute for the celebrating to stop, it never did.

"i'll take that as a yes." geno said, laughing. "i'll see you on signing day. take care, bye."

after they were all tired out, they fell onto the couch.

"i can't believe it.. i'm actually gonna play for uconn." paige said, relieved that her hard work had finally paid off.

"you deserve it, twin. i'm proud of you." amaya said, looking over at paige, dapping her up. "can't believe geno's making his way all the way  from connecticut just to be there on signing day. that's crazy.

"yeah." paige said, at a loss for words. they sat in silence, enjoying moment, when amaya finally spoke up.

"i'm gonna miss you when you go off to college p. i still got 2 more years of this." amaya said, sighing.

"i'm gonna miss you too, but you'll be just fine without me." paige said, hugging her friend, savoring the moment.

paige walked a little taller the next day at school, knowing in that in 7 months, she'd be in summer session in connecticut, living her dream.

she walked into english, and put her stuff down at her desk. the teacher walked in, and explained the assignment we would be doing.

it was an anylasis on any piece of literature the students wanted to pick, and needed to write a 5 paragraph essay of what the piece was about using evidence, and critique how the authors portrayed the roles of the characters.

paige opened her computer to start working, when the teacher said it was partner work. paige turned to her friend, and went to ask her if she wanted to work with her, when she heard her teacher speak.

"i'll be assigning partners, last time i let y'all pick your own groups i only got back 2 assignments." she said, as the class groaned. "i know, i know. if you guys do good on this assignment, you can pick your own groups next time."

she continued, "okay, brielle with shane, liam with nathan, kelly with amaya, ben with devin, paxton with jaden, paige with cornelia, max p with carter, julia with caden, oliver with luke, and natalia with max b, and brooke."

paige's heart dropped to her stomach, why me, she thought, as she walked over to cornelia and sat down beside her.

"sooo guess were partners..." she said, awkwardly, scratching the back of her neck.

"yup." cornelia said dryly, her eyes glued to her computer screen. paige looked around the room, trying not to make eye contact, which the brunette wasn't exactly making that difficult.

"what piece of literature do you want to do?" paige asked, tapping on her desk, as cornelia shot her a glare.

"i was thinking the woman upstairs by claire mussud." cornelia said, finally looking up from her computer, into paige's eyes.

"cool, what's it about?" paige asked, typing it into google on her computer.

"it's about this woman named nora, who feels unfulfilled and overlooked by her husband. she meets this artist, sirina, and falls insanely in love with her. they become bestfriends, then she discovers that sirina had been using her, and didn't value the friendship as much as nora did." cornelia explained, looking deep into paige's eyes, knowing exactly what she was doing.

okay that was oddly specific, paige thought as she looked away. "wow, wild story." paige joked, laughing trying to not make the conversation awkward.

"yeah, and you can cover the part about sirina, since it seems you two have some things in common." cornelia said, scoffing.

"you know, cory this seems a little personal. maybe we should pick a different topic-" paige said, getting interrupted by her.

"you asked me which piece of literature i wanted to anylaze, i chose this one, and now its a problem?" cornelia defended, shooting daggers into paige.

"okay, okay, i'm sorry." paige said, flailing her arms out.

"yeah, i've heard that one before." cornelia said rolling her eyes."

paige sighed, and started to reasearch information for her project. she knew she was in the wrong, so she just let it go, deciding it was best to just shut her mouth.
