Giyuu's POV

"Giyuu-san! It's your birthday in about a week, right? Are you going to do anything to celebrate it?" Tanjiro said to me, as I was walking out my estate.

My birthday? I wasn't thinking about it too hard, as I usually don't do anything special for it. Sometimes I go to my favorite restaurant by myself to give myself a little treat. But so what? So what I was born? These thoughts flood my mind as I think about my birthday. I've stopped celebrating it since Sabito died, since he was one of the only people who cared to celebrate it with me, aside from my sister. If I wasn't born maybe Sabito would be alive. Maybe Tsutako, too. Maybe that's the reason my I stopped celebrating it. It doesn't matter though, no one else does either. Well, except Tanjiro and his friends. But I realize I was lost in thought for too long and mustered up a response.

"Wasn't really planning to."

It was simple and it conveyed what I was trying to get through. Then, Tanjiro hit me with his "puppy eyes", if that what you call them. They're not really puppy eyes, but I can tell he's going to try to convince me to do something. Most likely on my birthday.

"Giyuu-san, you should really do something! It might lighten your mood, even if it's just a little. Do it for yourself."

As those words came out of Tanjiro's mouth, I couldn't help but think about how similar he sounds to Kocho. "You should go out more, maybe you'd make some friends~!" she'd say, almost on a daily basis. It's just teasing, and I don't mind that much, but it can get annoying pretty fast. But maybe it could help. Maybe with something. I could do it...for me, as Tanjiro said.

"I'll think about it." I said in response.

Tanjiro's expression turned into a beaming smile, as warm as the sunshine rays. It kind of hurt to look at, not in a bad way though.

"Take care, Giyuu-san!"

He said, as he left to go somewhere.

"Do it for myself..." I thought out loud.

Sanemi's POV

At the Butterfly Mansion

Fuck. Why am I here again? My crow just randomly told me to come here. I thought something might've happened, but nothing seems off. I'm guessing all of the hashira were sent here, due to the loud booming voice of Rengoku. I start to head into the room I hear Rengoku's come from. I see all of the hashira... but I swear there are some that are missing. Kocho, talking to Kanroji. Iguro is standing next to her, and I can tell through the visible part of his face he was blushing. What a fucking simp. Then, I look over to see Rengoku, practically yelling at Uzui, which makes sense. My eyes wander further, and I see Himejima praying by the corner of the room. What the fuck? Who's missing? I think for a moment. Wait... Tokito nor Tomioka are here. Thank God that fuck face Tomioka isn't here. I hate that man so much. He's so quiet for what? Does he think he's better than us or some shit? I scoff and I wander toward Kanroji and Kocho. Kanroji greets me with an excited "Hi!!", which no normal person would say. Kocho is the first to speak up to everyone in the room.

"Everyone, Shinazugawa has arrived. We can start planning now."

After she says this, everyone starts gather around. Wait, but what were we planning? Then, I hear his name through everyone's talking.

Tomioka.

Just his name alone infuriated me. What the fuck could we be doing that would have to do with him? If it has anything to do with that dipshit, I'm out.

"Fuck this."

I said, leaving the room. But then, as I was about to leave, I felt someone tug on my arm, not too hard though. I turned around to see Uzui. Of course. What could he want? Then, he spoke.

"If all of us have to be here, so do you. We're throwing a surprise birthday party for Tomioka. We're hoping to make it flamboyant, or at least more flamboyant than him. His birthday is in less than a week, so we need jobs for everyone. And I have the perfect one for you!"

After saying that, he winked which made me cringe. What kind of job? What? I'm going to kill that bastard, he's so fucking weird.

"Tch.", I say as I'm about to walk out. I didn't even know he had a birthday. I want nothing to do with Tomioka.  But...- NO BUTS. I don't want him near me...

Then, I hear Kocho's voice.

"Come on Shinazugawa, it'll make Master happy."

Her voice was intoxicating, but that didn't matter all that much. I caved in after she said it'll make Master happy. Anything for Master.

"..."

I paused for a moment.

"Fine."

I roll my eyes.

"What's the duty you had in mind?"

Uzui grinned and I couldn't help but already be aggravated by that. I hope my job doesn't suck, but guessing by his face and how he's whispering to Kocho, I bet it does.
