That one day

Xinyu Pov

"Now explain, why did you two come to school together? This is also the first time Sohyun came a bit late" I just shrugged my right shoulder because Sohyun used my left shoulder as a lean-on.

"Why did Sohyun suddenly choose your shoulder over the table?"

"I scolded her because she always sleeps like that"

"Liar" of course Nien was shocked because this was the first time she heard Sohyun speak right in front of her eyes.

"Then what is true?"

"Xinyu pulled my head to lean on her shoulder"

"But I did that so that your body wouldn't get damaged from constantly lying in that uncomfortable position"

"Yes, yes. You're noisy. Let me sleep for a while" I became silent and of course Nien was very confused now.

"Wait... what have I missed?"

"YAH ZHOU XINYU!"

"You guys are noisy" Nien kept staring at me sharply even though she was walking to her seat and ended up bumping into Chaeyeon.

"YAH HEO NIEN!"

"Blame Xinyu" this time Chaeyeon was the one who stared at me sharply. I winked at her which made her look like she wanted to throw up.

Nien going to her seat gave me the opportunity to ask Sohyun about last night. It would be a hassle if the class found out that Sohyun stayed over and slept next to me last night.

"Sohyun"

"hm?"

"did you really not sleep last night?"

Sohyun Pov

"maybe only 30 minutes?"

"why?"

That's because you're stupid.

"I don't know... maybe because of my insomnia?" not entirely a lie. I do have insomnia. It all happened because I was so afraid to sleep if I was at home. So I tried to stay awake if I didn't want something unwanted to happen.

But last night, was the strangest night and also quite a pleasant night for me. For the first time, I felt peace that I had rarely felt lately.

So that night, after I told Xinyu to sleep and she listened, I did manage to sleep. But since Xinyu buried her head into my neck, it managed to wake me up. I thought she would change her position at a certain time, it turned out I was wrong. She STAYED in the same position until the next morning.

I actually could have slept, IF SHE WAS NOT BREATHING ON MY NECK!! Besides, I felt bad pushing her because she was sleeping so soundly and very peacefully. I don't know why but Xinyu seemed to have another effect on me.

Like I like her

Maybe because I didn't trust anyone too much before, so I ended up giving Xinyu too many chances.

But it doesn't matter. At least I can fight my fear

"What about your wound?" I showed my hand that had several scars on it to Xinyu. She just held my hand and stroked the scar.

"It's healed a bit. I'll treat it again later?"

"No need. I can do it myself"

"But I want to, what should I do?" How can I refuse this fox's request?

Before I could answer, I could clearly hear someone as if shocked by something.

"YOU TWO ARE SO CUTE!! YOUR BEHAVIOR IS LIKE A COUPLE WHO HAS JUST GOT MARRIED" I looked at the person who shouted and it turned out they were Joobin, Yeonji, and Soomin. The youngest people in this class. Yes, even though there is SeoAh who is the youngest, but she is not as noisy as the three of them. well... i'm not really sure.

"If that's true, why?" One short sentence from Xinyu managed to make the whole class silent. How about me? Don't ask. My face was very red Where now I was hiding my face in her neck.

"You're stupid" I said softly, but I heard a small chuckle with her hand patting my shoulder.

Are you sure I can sleep? Of course not. The other class members immediately approached the two of us after Xinyu said that. Almost all of them asked the same thing which was 'are you guys really dating?'. I clearly didn't help Xinyu answer and now my head was back on the table.

My days with Xinyu as my first friend in high school were indeed a bit tiring. Xinyu would always tell me a lot of things for a very long time. She could talk about a lot of strange things. I was very confused about how she could get so many topics. But I didn't mind, because honestly, I preferred talking a lot rather than being quiet. Remembering what happened to me at home. If there was 1 family member who was quiet, I mean not talking, something unpleasant would happen and I didn't want that.

"Sohyun?" I came back to my senses and it turned out that the lesson had started.

"Are you sick? Your face is a little pale" I just shook my head because basically I was fine.

Maybe memories at home?

"I... am okay. Just a little tired" Xinyu just nodded and focused back on the lesson that was explained. My confused mind managed to take over my consciousness to not focus in class. I really wanted to sleep, but I was afraid that I would dream the same thing. A nightmare at home.

I didn't want to go back home. It had been a long time since I didn't go home and I didn't regret it. All the money I had earned would definitely be taken by them. All the hard work I had done would definitely be destroyed by them. But I was tired of continuing to sleep at school.

It was impossible for me to sleep at Xinyu's house. I had just become friends with her.

I glanced at Xinyu whose appearance seemed to have no mistakes. Beautiful and charming if I may say so.

"Even though we've only just become friends, why does it seem like I've been comfortable with you for a long time?"

"Maybe because my character suits you?"

"Makes sense" I said while leaning on her shoulder.

"if i didn't like it, i would have pushed your head off a long time ago" i just chuckled because it was true.
