"Okay, that's enough for today's warmup. From now on, we will do something you have been anticipating since I started training you-a spar." Ayanokouji Kiyotaka's monotone voice conveyed the news they had been waiting for.
Standing before him were Hyuga Hinata, Naruto Uzumaki, and Sasuke Uchiha.
"Hn. I've been expecting this, Sensei. What are the rules?" Sasuke Uchiha asked, his excitement barely contained. Despite the grueling training, he felt his progress was limited to just the basics.
"Good question. Firstly, remember this: no holding back. That's it. Then, you will notice something abnormal," Ayanokouji replied, hinting at a surprise awaiting them.
"Okay, when this touches the ground, we begin." Ayanokouji's voice remained emotionless as he threw a twig into the air. The moment it hit the ground, everyone became extremely alert.
Sasuke initiated the match by throwing two shurikens. They were slightly off-target, but as they clashed mid-air, one veered towards Ayanokouji. He simply tilted his head to avoid it. But Sasuke had more tricks up his sleeve.
As Sasuke weaved hand signs, Ayanokouji instantly recognized them and backed off slightly, thinking, 'Uchihas and their shuriken techniques. Impressive, but not enough. Using that technique is a smart move.'
The single shuriken multiplied into numerous ones, hurtling towards Ayanokouji. He dodged them effortlessly and turned his gaze towards Sasuke. "Compared to Itachi, this is disappointing, Sasuke," he remarked.
"Huh!? Hn, don't worry, you'll be down soon," Sasuke responded, surprised but determined. He rushed at Ayanokouji, throwing a series of punches: a jab, a cross, a lead hook, and a rear uppercut. Ayanokouji deflected them easily using Wing Chun in a defensive mode.
Then his instincts screamed.
He ducked just in time to dodge a 360-degree roundhouse kick from Hinata Hyuga. Quickly, he grabbed Sasuke's hand mid-punch and threw him towards Hinata, sending them both flying.
For the second time, his instincts screamed.
Ayanokouji formed a ram hand sign and slammed the ground. A kunai flew towards him, landing nearby. 'I see. The original decided to use a sealing tag bomb,' he thought. A huge explosion erupted near him, but he remained unscathed thanks to the barrier seal he had placed on the ground. The seal was completely invisible to the naked eye, though the Sharingan and Byakugan could spot it instantly.
"Naruto, you did well. It seems you've nearly mastered that technique," Ayanokouji remarked in his ever-monotone voice, maintaining the guise of a guiding mentor.
"Hmm. Interesting!" muttered a mysterious man as he watched the spar from a tree.
"Hn. If he can handle explosives, so can I," Sasuke said, leaping high into the air. Ayanokouji Kiyotaka's gaze followed him, but Sasuke merely threw shurikens and kunai. Just as Ayanokouji was about to deflect them, he felt a sharp rise in temperature from his side. The "real" Sasuke was there, weaving hand signs-Tiger, Monkey, Boar, Horse, and Tiger-signaling a Fireball Jutsu.
"I see. A Fireball Jutsu, huh?" Ayanokouji muttered as a massive fireball hurtled towards him. Sasuke was slightly surprised, and Ayanokouji, though a little impressed, knew he had to defend. Molding chakra in his hand, he caught the fireball, which pushed him back slightly. Ayanokouji applied more force, dissipating the fireball.
"Hn. You are indeed somewhat capable, Sensei," remarked Sasuke, still pondering one peculiar aspect of his Fireball Jutsu. It was more powerful, faster, and required less chakra.
