Lilly's POV
I limped into the kitchen with my head held high the next morning. Well, I say morning. I really meant afternoon. Then I remembered how late I stayed up last night texting Jason.
Fortunately,my legs were feeling alot better but I knew it wasn't just because of my comfy bed. It was Jason, coming into my life, making me happy.
As I sat down at the table, I realised Gemma, Grace and Summer were all staring at me, curiously.
"Hello." I said, suddenly feeling self conscious.
"Don't look so scared Lilly. We won't hurt you and we will definitely teach you how to be sassy." Gemma said, smirking.
"Yeah, so you can get back at Violet and Peaches when they are horrible." Grace said, cheerfully.
"I'd appreciate that." I tried to say, while munching on some jam and toast.
The three girls giggled.
"What? Have I got jam on my face?" I asked wiping my face with the sleeves of my jumper.
They all pointed behind me and I saw a very sleepy Tyler shuffle into the kitchen.
I blushed.
"Morning ladies." He greeted us with a yawn, while getting some milk out of the fridge.
I watched in horror and amusement as he drunk the milk from the cartoon and split half of it down his top.
"You mean afternoon?" I pointed out to him as he sat down next to Grace with some Rice Krispies.
"What?" He asked confused.
"It's 12:35 you idiot." Summer said, looking at her watch.
"Oh....yeah." He said in a 'I don't really care kind of voice.
"Morning everyone." Katlin entered the room followed by Drew and Peter.
"Morning." We all replied.
"How are you this morning Lill..." She was interrupted by a loud crash coming from upstairs that made us all jump.
"If those boys have broken that window again, I'm going to ban them from their experiments. Why I let them start again is a mystery to me." Katlin muttered to herself as so walked swiftly out of the kitchen.
"Experiments?" I asked Tyler.
"Oh, well. According to Katlin, Jack and James's parents were scientists and before they died, they showed Jack and Jake lots of experiments. As they've grown older, they have became more risky with their experiments. Last time they smashed their window and the time before that, they smashed their bedroom door down. Don't ask." He explained.
That was followed by an uncomfortably silence so I decided to change the subject.
"Where's Violet and Peaches?" Not that I cared.
"They came down this morning and took their breakfast to their rooms. They always do that." Drew explained as he sat down next to me, his DS in hand.
I looked around and realised Peter was standing awkwardly behind me.
"You can sit down next to me Peter." I said, smiling.
He returned a small smile and sat down.
I passed him the toast rack and some butter and continued eating my toast.
Katlin returned to the kitchen, carrying a basket full of dirty laundry, followed by a pair of grump twins.
"You're grounded until you earn the money to pay for the lamp and the rug." She said sternly before heading to the wash room.
"What did you do this time lads?" Tyler asked them.
"Well, ladies and gentlemen. Our experiment this morning was to see if the new chemical we created could burn through the metal poles on our beds." James began.
"However, we kind of spilt some on the rug and it kind of created a hole in the middle of it. Then, in the rush to pour the chemical that would stop the hole from getting bigger, James kind of ran into the desk and knocked the lamp over." Jack explained, bowing.
We all applauded and laughed. To my surprise, Peter laughed the loudest and make The Twins promise that when they do another experiment, they should let him know.
After breakfast, The Twins were forced, by Katlin, to do all the gardening which they hated. I really wanted to watch them but Katlin told me to go inside or I'd distract them.
Gemma, Grace and Summer asked me if I wanted to go out shopping with them. I declined as I knew exactly what I wanted to do. They begged and pleaded so I said that I would go with them tomorrow.
When they left, I went upstairs to find Drew and Peter. I hadn't seen Peaches or Violet all day yet I did hear them talking about boys when I passed their room. I peered round the door to the games room and spotted them both in there. Drew's eyes were glued the the TV screen. I looked and saw the he was playing on the Xbox. I saw Drew's character running around and shooting people.
So that's what Call Of Duty is, I thought, remembering the signs outside game shops which advertised it when Jason and I went into town.
Peter was watching nervously. He was sitting on a bright blue beanbag. I saw him flinch every time a shot on the game sounded.
I limped in and plonked myself down onto the pink beanbag beside Peter.
"Hi Peter. Are you okay?" I asked him.
"Yes, I'm okay." He replied quietly.
"Do you want to play a game?"
"Only if Jack and Jake play. I like it when we play hide and seek and even when they know where I am, they pretend they don't and make silly voices." He said, smiling slighty.
I was glad Jack and James look after him.
"Let's go and find them then." I smiled and helped him up.
Then I limped over to the TV and turned it off, stopping Drews game.
Before he complained, I spoke before him.
"You're coming outside to play hide and seek with me, Peter, Jack and James. Okay?"
He huffed.
"Fine." He got up and walked out the door, calling Jack and James.
"Let's go." He took my hand and we followed Drew downstairs.
