She woke up to the unique feeling of cool scales slithering up her leg. It felt quite refreshing compared to the humidity and so she was tempted to sleep a bit more. But that was until she heard Rahn's voice as he began to shake her awake.
"Ha..da..ssah!" His voice sounded urgent, she opened her eyes and when she saw his torse propped up above her she nearly screamed but he quickly placed his palm over her mouth. She tried to calm down as she noticed the panicked look on his eyes. She could hear footsteps above.
Someone had found this place!
"Are you sure this is where you sniffed her out?" A gruff voice said.
"I'm sure, my nose is quite sensitive."
She sat up slowly and she looked around the room, she needed to take all the artefacts. She moved quickly taking them all into her jade beads trying not to make roo much noise. Rahn watched her anxiously. She was done quickly, and she turned to him.
"You can't stay here, come with me Rahn." She said quickly.
"Go?" He repeated.
She nodded immediately pointing up at the skylight.
He shook his head immediately as if afraid. "..stay, I.... can't... Go."
She grabbed his hands desperately as the sounds of footsteps for closer. "But why? If you stay here you will die!"
She had seen the body parts of ferals that had been killed mercilessly. If he stayed here he would die. He looked at her for a moment and he decided to demonstrate, as soon as he tried to reach the skyline she saw a large chain appear around his waist.
She gasped as she realized he meant what he said he was chained here. But why?
She tried to think quickly. Taking out the scroll she began to read again.
'For ease of ascension, there is always a Harbinger within the Serenity Pool. These beings, for lack of a better term, exist to serve and awaken the latent powers within us. Bound by ancient rites, they are tied to humanity, destined to aid us in our journey. Therefore, do not feel shy or hesitant in utilizing their strength, for it is their purpose to serve our noble lineage.'
Her body felt cold. She looked up at Rahn he looked at her with some kind of sadness she could not understand. "Ha...da...ssah...go."
She felt her heart chill. How long was he here for? How long was he being used to awaken a human Queen? Why...
She felt her throat hurt, like she was struggling to swallow the reality. This was the Harbinger? Chained here and destined to give up his body just because?
She felt an odd rage rise in her.
He did not understand her anger and so flinched a little. She saw he was a bit afraid and calmed herself. If she could not leave she would just have to kill the beast men haunting her.

"Check this out," a man with dark grey wolf ears said coldly as he came to the entrance of the artifacts room. He nodded to his teammate, a man with the same dark grey ears, though one was half bitten off.
The two slowly descended the staircase, their eyes scanning the room for any sign of movement. Hadassah and Rahn stood silently in the shadows, watching their every step.
As the men reached the bottom of the staircase, Rahn stepped forward, drawing their attention. "What the-?" the first man started, distracted by Rahn's sudden appearance.
