Verena woke up to her new husband next to her. Zeus slept like a log next to her and she couldn't help but show a small satisfied smile. The faint sounds of continued feasting drifting through the window. She quietly called for her servants, who entered the room quietly as practiced to help her freshen up.

As they worked, Verena inquired about the imperial concubine. One of the servants hesitated before speaking. "Your Highness, the imperial concubine is missing."

Verena's smirk widened at the news. "Is that so?" She mulled over the information, deciding to keep it to herself for now. She had planned to deal with her slowly, but if she left by herself it would save her the energy. By the time Zeus realized Hadassah was gone, he would be too preoccupied with their new life together to care about finding her. The thought pleased Verena greatly, and she allowed herself to relax, enjoying the luxury of her new position.

As long as she didn't come back, she wouldn't need to pursue the issue.

The graveyard of colossals was a daunting landscape where no tribe dared to live. Giant swords protruded from the ground, and bones jutted out from the mountains, plants overgrew the swords and stone skeletons, there was speculation as to how the ancestors had carved these monuments, similar to the colossal waterfalls. The couple hiked through the terrain, Ahqi walked up with ease but the woman at his side struggled considerably. Hadassah's face radiated heat as she panted and heaved, struggling to keep up. Ahqi's stamina was something she, as a human, could not keep up with so she slowed them down considerably.

"You're doing great," he said trying his best to encourage her. Anytime he tried to carry her she declined quickly so he didn't know what else to do. "We'll get there soon."

Hadassah nodded, trying not to think too much to preserve energy. She felt so unprepared for the terrain, Ahqi still looked as put-together as a deity but she - on the other hand - was a mess. Her hair was braided and she still felt like chopping it all off since strands kept sticking to her sweat.

Hadassah laughed between heaves at how ironic this situation was, admitted she looked down on Ahqi quite a bit till now, she felt bitterly humbled by this entire situation.

"We can take a break for a bit -"

"No more breaks!" Every few hours they had stopped for her to rest; she was only wearing a thin dress at this point but he was still dressed in his usual clothes. Anyone walking by would think they were looking at a faerie in person.

She really hated it, it made her feel attracted to him, like, actually attracted to him. She knew he was a man before, but seeing him effortlessly hike up the mountain reminded her of their difference in strength. He had mellowed out considerably since they first met and only now was she starting to understand why he was such a sought-after bachelor - outside the whole 'prince of the sea' thing.

Ahqi's ears suddenly perked up, sensing something.

"Stop." He quickly placed a hand in front of her so she wouldn't go forward. She watched his alert face and relaxed her body, hands on her knees as she tried to regain her strength.

Ahqi was silent, his eyes scanning the forest. She wanted to ask what was wrong but her question was answered immediately, with a tree being hurled at them with immense force.

Ahqi pulled her body to the side like a ragdoll and they both hid behind a tree. He sat her between his legs with his hand over her mouth. She sat silently, her heart freaking out at the sudden attack. Was it an orc? A beast man?

"The both of you! Get the fuck out here before I fish you out!"

The voice of a child rang through the forest, which confused Hadassah. What kind of child spoke like that? She didn't have the luxury to think as the tree they hid behind snapped suddenly as another tree was thrown at it. She nearly screamed but Ahqi's hand held her stomach tightly before moving the both of them again.
