Eiji set down a tray of Japanese snacks, and two glasses of water. He took a seat next to Ash, who was sitting on the couch, dozing off every few seconds. Time zones in Japan and America were basically polar opposites, when it was night in one, it was day in the other. The brown haired boy smiled softly, nudging Ash who whined a bit, opening his eyes.
"Eat something, then wash up and, then you can sleep."
Ash frowned, grabbing a cushion from the couch and pressing it against his face, closing his eyes again and slowly dozing into slumber. Once this boy decided it was time to sleep, nothing could stop him. Eiji let out a soft sigh, grabbing the pillow from the blonde haired boy's hand and pinching his cheek.
"Ei..let me sleep."
"Not yet, eat first."
Ash sighed, sitting up straight as he reached his hand for the tray of food, picking up what looked like a ball of rice with seaweed? The blonde haired boy raised an eyebrow, bringing the food to his nose and sniffing it, his face blank and his eyes half-lidded with sleep.
"That's a rice ball, it's literally just a rice shaped into a ball with filling inside it."
"Mmh."
Eiji smiled, watching Ash bite into the food, his eyes slightly lighting up. Ash definitely liked it, and his reaction was way better than that reaction he had when he first tried natto back in New York, he really didn't like it.
"Is it good?"
"Better than Natto."
"You picky, white boy."
Eiji slowly stood up from the couch, pushing the tray on middle of the coffee table a little closer to the edge, so Ash could grab food easily. The blonde haired boy's eyes following the shorter boy, watching him get up. Without hesitation, Ash quickly grabbed Eiji's wrist, pulling him back down on the couch.
"Where are you going? Stay."
"I'm going to get some fresh towels for you, so you can shower."
"I don't want to shower.."
"You have to! You just got back from a long plane ride."
"Alright, fine..mom."
"Mom? Seriously?"
Ash shot Eiji a cheeky grin, making the brown haired boy sigh, laughing softly. Ash let go of Eiji's wrist, letting the brown haired boy get up to find some towels..he also decided to change the comforters and bed sheets since he had no idea Ash was coming, it was a complete surprise visit, and if Eiji had known, he would've done some serious shopping and preparing, also cleaning the house top to bottom.

Gently tucking the pillow inside the new, freshly washed pillow case, Adding fresh, unused bed sheets and comforters onto the bed, Eiji made sure the bed was comfier than ever. Since he only had one room, with one bed, which was big enough to fit two people, they'd probably just sleep in the same bed until he managed something. It wasn't anything bad.
Ash walked out of the bathroom wearing a new, washed set of clothes. His hair damp from just getting out of the shower, Eiji was right, showering did make him feel a lot better. The blonde haired boy walked over to the glass door that lead to a small balcony which gave the perfect view of the city. Lovely plants hanging on railings, and the sight of cherry blossoms everywhere. Anywhere you looked, you were met by those soft, gorgeous pink petals. Japan, Ash was in Japan..the place he had wanted to go to so badly after Eiji mentioned what it was like. A place where guns weren't needed to protect yourself, a place where he could finally re-start his life, start from scratch and start fresh. Ash walking into the balcony, leaning against the railing, his arms dangling outside, eyes closed as he felt the gentle, chilly breeze hit him in the face, a contrast to the slightly warm temperature outside. Everything felt..so peaceful.
"Ash! I'm done changing the bed sheets, you can go sleep now."
The blonde haired boy slowly opened his eyes, turning around to face Eiji. This brown haired boy which he held so dear..they were both completely different people, with different personalities, different nationalities..and different backstories..Yet the two found comfort each other like non other.
"Alright."
Ash followed Eiji to the bedroom, sitting down on the soft bed. The bed sheets smelled flowers, must be the fabric softener Eiji uses. Even after being newly washed, the brown haired boy's scent still lingered in the bed, it was very, very faint. Yet still there, there to comfort Ash.
"You sure have a soft bed."
The blonde haired boy said, a soft smile on his lips. He moved to lay down on the bed, head pressing against the soft pillow. Eiji grinned, walking over to pull the blanket over Ash, tucking him in as if he were a baby.
"You really do act like a mom.."
"Oh, just shut it and sleep."
Ash chuckled, shutting his eyes as he turned to his side, closing his eyes. The tiredness of the long flight, and something about finally being free from the harsh life he lived in New York. He was finally free..he could finally rest, and live his life in peace.
"Sleep well, Ash."
"Mhm.."
