The rest of the day went by swiftly, and before the two knew it, it was already nighttime. Ash stood on the small balcony, arms resting on the railings which was neatly filled with climbing vines and flowers, a few pink petals soaring with the wind, one of them successfully managing to land onto the blonde's hair without him noticing. Eiji walked to the balcony holding two ceramic mugs in his hand, he handed one to Ash, who took it by the handle, bringing the mug to his soft lips to take a sip.

"I had fun today...Thank you, Eiji."

Smiling, the brown haired boy gave Ash a pat in the back, before resting his hands on the railing. The two of them stood next to each other in silence, even if staring outside, their minds were on each other, and their hearts craved each other. Eiji unconsciously scooted a little closer to Ash, who acceptingly scooted closer as well. It was completely silent, other than the gentle wind blowing, the occasional honks of cars passing by. The thin, crescent moon dimly shined in the sky, as if it was reminding Ash once again, that he was free, and a new beginning had started for him.

"Eiji..."

"Hm?"

"Can I kiss you?"

The brown haired boy stopped for a second, turning his head to look at the blonde. A blush creeping onto Eiji's cheeks as he clenched the mug in his hand tightly. What? A kiss? Already? His heart wasn't ready for this! Yes, he liked Ash, yes they had kissed once, before...but that was a way different story.

"It's fine if you don't want to, I won't force you."

"No..."

"No?"

"No, I want it..the kiss."

Ash smiled softly; he placed his mug down on the tiny shelf full of plants in the garden. Since there wasn't much space, the mug was very close to the edge, a little movement and it could fall, but it really didn't matter. The blonde moved closer to Eiji, moving a hand to cup the brown-haired boy's chin, lips gently pressing against each other. The kiss was soft, and as light as a feather, yet sweet as honey. The hand on Eiji's chin moving to his cheek, gently pushing his head slightly so the kiss could deepen. Both of their eyes shut tight, and the mug in Eiji's hand pressed in between them. Eiji could feel Ash's heartbeat against his own, the kiss which only lasted a minute, felt like centuries. Once their lips finally separate, the two of them take a moment to catch their breathes, their faces close to each other, one nose brushing against the other.

"Thank you..Eiji, for being there for me, for saving me."

"I should thank you, Ash."

"No, I should."

"Nuh-uh,"

The two of them laughed, pressing their foreheads against each others. It truly was a sweet moment, the hardships Ash went through, the childhood he never experienced. Now was the time he could finally live again, as a human, and next to him, would be the one he held dearest in the entire world.

"It's getting late, let's go to sleep."

"Together?"

"Together."
