*Thank you all for patiently waiting for my return. Here's chapter 33 😘*
~Third POV~
Alex didn't want to leave when the movie ended, but it was getting late, and he still had to ride his bike back home.
While (Y/n) suggested he wait until her mom or dad got back home for them to drive him, he didn't want to trouble them. It wasn't that far, and frankly, he could use the time to reflect on tonight's events.
"Text me when you get home, okay?" She asks worriedly, grabbing his hand.
Alex stops before the steps of the porch and looks back. Just a touch of her hand makes his heart race.
"I will."
Only when (Y/n) goes to head back inside, does Alex pull her back in. Their lips collide together for the fifteenth or twentieth time tonight. It was difficult to say how many times they ended up making out instead of watching the movie. Not enough, in Alex's mind. There was no satisfying his craving for her lips.
When she breaks off, he leans in after her, playfully nudging her nose with his own.
She lets out a light-hearted giggle that makes him weak in the knees. How could he have not known he loved her sooner? Now that he knew he did, and that she reciprocated it, he couldn't fathom things any other way.
He will forever regret that he didn't see her sooner. She was right there in front of his eyes all this time, and yet, was never acknowledged.
A pain settles in his chest when he thinks back on all of the times he whined about other girls to her. There were days where all he talked to (Y/n) about was his girlfriends or crushes. The thought of her hurting upon such an occasion breaks his heart.
"Okay, okay, you need to go." (Y/n) finishes laughing and pushes him back.
Alex feigns being wounded, clutching his shirt directly over his heart. She laughs once again, shaking her head as he capers down the stairs and over to his bike.
Once he lifts it back upright and climbs on, he turns over his shoulder.
"I'll see you tomorrow." She calls out, standing inside the doorway now.
He flashes a smile before taking off down the driveway and onto the dirt road.

The ride back home consists of endless replays of what just happened, and he has a goofy grin spread from ear to ear the entire way.
Each time the thought of her lips presents itself, it sends an onset of butterflies flapping about in his stomach.
He's lost in thought, to the point that he hasn't a clue when he made it back home, or if he even put his bike away. Not to mention when he retreated to the loft.
"Where did you run off to?" Cole questions as his head pops up from the ledge.
Alex glances over, watching him climb up. His eyes follow Cole as he traipses over, and snaps open a folding chair. He straddles the seat, idling his arms on the backrest.
"I went to see (Y/n)." He attempts playing it close to the vest, but the coquettish smirk ruins it.
Cole leans over his arms, eyes widened. He knows what that look means. Alex is as easy to read as a book. His little brother is many things, but enigmatic he is not.
There's a change in him from this morning to now. Previously, he has been disconcerted and restless ever since he came to understand his true feelings for a certain girl. Yet now, instead, the Alex sitting before his eyes has the makings of someone who is halcyon and, all around, over the moon.
