"AH- FUCK-!"

Lynn yelled in terror as she stepped on one of the broken stairs causing her leg to slip through the gap. Riki, who was right behind Lynn, immediately rescued her by grasping her hands and pulling her away from the situation.

"Gurl- watch where you're going!"

He scoffed and let go of Lynn as she dropped to the floor to catch her breath. Her pants' hem burned slightly as a result of its close contact with the fire. She coughed hard, tucking a strand of hair behind her ears.

"You can't even see amidst the smoke!!"

Lynn argued in response to Riki's question, standing up and dusting the soot from her clothes.

"You take the lead."

She added. Riki rolled his eyes, taking the lead as she said.

"At least now, be careful. Don't be foolish and stick your leg into something else."

He teased, positioning his feet on the stair in front of him and exerting a little pressure.

"Shut up before I feed you to the fire."

She retorted angrily as she watched him double-check the stair's safety before stepping on it.

"OoOo~ I'm scared."

Lynn rolled her eyes in response to Riki's mocking smirk.

The two made their way through the fire.

Lynn fastened her cardigan around her waistline. She covered her mouth with her right hand while holding her left hand out so she could quickly grab something if she fell again.

Riki kept his coat wide open in his hands, putting out small bits of fire to make room for them to walk.

"I'm tired.."

Lynn muttered as she wiped the sweat from her forehead.

"Oh my baby, are you tired? Why don't you rest for a while? Also take a nap while you're at it~"

Riki sardonically spoke earning a blatant glare from Lynn. He looked behind his shoulder to see Lynn's reaction. But instead, his gaze was drawn to something behind her.

"Lynn- we need to run-"

He spoke in a panicked tone. Lynn crinkled her brow.

"Huh?"

She followed his line of sight and looked behind her. Her eyes grew wider.

The flames rose up the stairs like a massive tsunami, devouring everything, big or small, that stood in its way.

Lynn and Riki stood in its path.
