The interior of the cottage wasn't much. A dim yellow glow from two singular light bulbs illuminated the entire place.

The cottage split into two rooms. One of the rooms held a small circular wooden table with one wooden chair beside it, a dirty white refrigerator, a torn and muddy couch, an empty photo frame hanging on the wall and an about-to-fall-apart book shelf, holding itself together with rusted nails.

The other room held nothing but a torn bed and a small bed side table.

Overall, the place looked abandoned. It seemed like someone used to live there but abruptly ghosted it for some vile reason.

The paint from the walls was peeling off. The floor was filled with dried blood stains.

That's right.

Blood.

A putrid odour filled the place, like that of a murder site.

The eight students scrunched their noses when the smell reached them. They brought their hands to their face, covering their nose and mouth to avoid the smell as much as they could. A few of them coughed from the odour.

Each of them stood in a different place, exploring it. They weren't looking for anything in particular. Just something that could provide them with a clue about the next task.

Overall, the main objective was to escape the game world that they were in. So any clue that provides them with this information would be handy too.

"I'm starting to regret coming here."

Suha let out as she slightly scanned the so-called bedroom, her right hand pinching her nose and her left hand in the pocket of her black jeans.

Sena - who was crouched next to the bedside table to analyse it - rolled her eyes in pure annoyance.

"All you do is regret."

Sena coldly spoke before she stood up from the place and walked outside, leaving Suha alone inside the room.

Suha froze there. Sena's words hit a nerve as she went deep into her thoughts.

Sena was right.

All Suha ever did was regret. Not think.

But let us not travel into that past for now.

Just as Sena stepped out, her eyes fell on Jaeyun who was beside the old-looking fridge. His hand - bandaged with his handkerchief - was already on the fridge's handle and right when Sena's eyes fell on him, he opened it.

The fridge, upon being opened released a reeking pungent odour that circulated around the place. Jaeyun gagged, letting go of the handle and immediately looking away, covering his nose and mouth with his palm.

Everyone gagged at the odour that smelled worse than what the place initially smelled.

What was inside the fridge, a rotten corpse?! Because that was what it smelled like.
