SCHLATTPOV
"I can't believe you, Ted!" I drop into my chair and throw my head over the back of it. "One little white lie! That's all you had to do!" I whip my hands into the air and glare at Ted. "And now she knows you killed him" I place my fingers on my lips as I think of a solution.
My face grows warm and I quickly take my hand away from my face. "Well, technically you helped me kill him! We killed him, Schlatt" Ted claims. Which was just totally a lie! I mean, come on, why would I kill one of my best-friends?
"What are you talking about, Ted? You told Y/N you killed him.. remember?" I remind Ted of what he had said to you a few days ago. "I mean.. if she reports you then you're gone!"
"You wouldn't defend me?" Ted asks me. It was a brutal question.. and honestly, no, no I wouldn't. My image would be tainted if people found out I was a murderer.
"Oh no, I totally would" I roll my eyes. "It's just.. she's a cop and all, so, she has the higher ground" I shrug and spin in my chair. "Sucks, I guess"
"So why don't we kill her?" Ted suggests. My silence says it all. "Schlatt.. why did we kill Charlie?" He questions, stepping closer to me and placing both his hands on his desk. "Why did we really kill Charlie?"
"Be-Because he said he was gonna quit.." I mutter, glancing down at my desk so Ted can't see my face.
"The real reason--!"
I scoff and stand up. "He was gonna kill Y/N!" I blurt out. Ted freezes, his head tilts in confusion. "I didn't say that" I shake my head.
"Oh my god, Schlatt you killed a homie for a girl?! What happened to bros before hoes?!" Ted gasps, slapping both his hands over his mouth.
"She's not a hoe" I scowl at him. "And-- And I didn't kill a homie! You've gotta admit, Charlie was going insane! He had it coming, Ted!" I claim while waving my hands around. Ted crosses his arms and squints at me.
"Eh, you are right about that. I think the job just got to him.." Ted mumbles while he rubs his chin with his hand. "But either way, you care about someone?" He gasps again. I roll my eyes and drop back into my chair, slamming my head on my desk while Ted coos.
"Shut up, Ted.. I'm not a psychopath" I stop his cooing. "I do care about people, just not a lot of them" I lift my head back up and glare at him.
"Do you care about me?" Ted holds both his hands together and bats his eyelashes at me.
"No," I deadpan.
"Oh," Ted pouts. "Wait! Wait! You're getting me off topic! Schlatt you like someone!" He points a finger at me.
"And I'm a grown man, just putting that out there!" I raise my hands up to my chest. "I just thought you needed to hear that, is all"
"Okay.. but you're my best friend and usually you just kill the people you like or ignore them!" Ted reminds me of the few past encounters. I grumble and don't lift my eyes from my desk. "So.. Schlatt, why isn't she dead yet?"
