Y/N POV
"Are you sure this is safe, Alex?" I ask him as he parks the car on the side of the road. Outside this rental car was the worst part of Big City, criminals roamed the street, every alley had something dangerous down it. We weren't safe. No one was.
"Yes. Want me to hold you?" Alex coos. I angrily punch his shoulder and get out of the car. "Y/N!" He exclaims with a small whine. He gets out of the car and slams his door shut. "I was being serious, I wasn't making fun of you!" He promises as he makes his way over to me. I turn away from him and he wraps his arms around my body.
"Weirdo!" I scowl at him. He nervously laughs at the name. "Just tell me the fucking address so we can get the fake identity" I remind him of why we were here in the first place. Since Alex thinks I'm not getting good info, he thought maybe he still had a shot, so we're getting him a fake identity. It took him a lot to convince me to give into this.
"Right," Alex chuckles. He slings an arm over my shoulders and leads me down the cracked sidewalk. He opens the glass door of a brick building and slides inside, holding the door open for me.
I walk inside and he drops the door, letting it slam shut. I wince at the volume and glare at him when the few people do the same. I grab his sleeve and tug him over to the receptionist desk. "Hi, we were wondering-- oh," I step back at the sight of the 'person' in front of me. All it really was, was a pile of multiple bugs in the form of a human man. They wore a suit and tie which kept the bugs in shape. "Astrid?" I hesitantly ask the bugs. The bug man lifts their arm and points up. Alex and I both look up and see the red numbers above us flip to a sixteen. "Fuck.." I whisper. I look back down and see a number dispenser, I grab it and see I had gotten number twenty.
"What number did you get..?" Alex mutters to me. I let go of his sleeve and walked over to an empty seat. I sat down as he walked over to me, there were no open seats next to me so he leaned against the wall. "I was hoping this wouldn't take long. We need to get back to--" I slap his arm, stopping him from continuing his sentence. "Ow, what?" He pouts.
I grab his collar and pull him down to my level. "Alex, we're in the most dangerous place in Big City, why the fuck would you almost mention a police station..?!" I whisper-shouted at him, hoping no one had heard. "And don't tell anyone about this, we're doing something really illegal right now.." I tell him in a hushed voice.
"Ahh.." Alex nods. "Got it" He gives me a thumbs up. I roll my eyes and let go of his collar.
"Fix up your tie, we need to look presentable-- and you have the money, right?" I ask him. He pats himself down before nodding again and then fixing his tie (which was undone, like usual). This waiting room was small, there were four seats in total. The other three were taken up by strangers.
Number seventeen is called by a woman as she walks out of a room. She kinda looked like-- "Y/N?" Aztro looks at me confused. "What're you doing here?"
"You're Astrid?" I stare in disbelief. I mean, the names were similar, yeah. But I met Aztro in an office building, I didn't expect them to do illegal things like creating fake identities. "Ah, okay. Whatever. This is actually better because I know you-- could you help me with creating a fake identity?" I stand from my seat and walk over to her.
