"Regina I love you. I can't live without you, please give us another chance" David held her hands in his and looked straight into her eyes, trying to let her see and feel the love he felt in his heart for her.
She seemed to give in for a second, her eyes filled with all the emotions her mouth could not utter, but caught herself in time and pulled her hands away. She looked at him with unexpected coldness. Her eyes as cold as a silver stone boring into his skull when she said
"I don't love you anymore David, I love Jorge and we are getting married. Do yourself a favor and forget ever meeting me". She turned on her heels a lone tear cascading down her cheeks as she went on her way, leaving behind the only man she ever loved.
I hid my head in both of my palms as I cried my eyes out at the scene before me. I just couldn't stop myself. It was just so sad. I've always been an emotional wreck when watching sad scenes on TV and this time was no different, call me a weep but that's who I am as well as many others.
I wiped away my tears as I watch the credits to my favorite TELENOVELLA scrolling on TV. Mere seconds later, Kyle excited the kitchen with a bottle of wine and two wine glasses in his hands.
"TA-DAA!! -" he said excitedly jingling the items in his hands for me to see "- a bottle of my favorite Merlot, I think you're going -" he froze when he saw me wiping off the tears.
"Babe...why are you crying, what's wrong?" he asked with concern clear in his eyes as he stared at me.
I didn't say anything, just looked at him. I could see he was trying to guess what the matter with me was. Then his gaze fell on the TV and the credits still scrolling, then back to me and he smiled.
He took the seat beside me and poured a glass of wine. He handed me the glass and watched as I drank it all at once THEN placed it on the little glass case at the corner of the couch we were seated. He chuckled.
"So tell me, what happened this time?" he asked leaning back on the couch with his glass in hand.
I turned sideways on the couch to face him, smiling as I did because I had someone to vent about my favorite show, seeing as Jenna wasn't here and he never really liked series, he said he preferred films or movies because they were shorter and you could watch the entire storyline all at once. Puff.
"...and she just left him there. She didn't even fight for their love; all she cared about was protecting her family's fucked up reputation." I said angrily as I slumped back on the couch after minutes of going on and on about the show.
Kyle smiled as he slowly drank his wine, nodding once and again during my ramble to show me he was listening even when I doubted he understood any of it.
After nodding a few times like he was figuring something important in his mind he said in such a serious tone that I took a few seconds to really process his words,
"Ari baby...are you hungry?"
I blinked a few times then burst out in laughter "what does that have to do with anything?" I said still cackling; I shoved him back as my laughter slowed down. "You weren't even listening, you dork" I said shoving him once more.
