The next day, ...
I woke up to the horrible screams of what could best be described as the chambers of hell and agony aka my sister 'trying' to sing 'Hello' from Adele.
I remembered recording the absolutely hell of a voice a few years back at a karaoke event in our home town. She had been so excited, insisting our brother and I capture that moment into video of what was one of the most embarrassing time of my life and not only. I had kept the record though, thinking that if no one will ever hear this I might as well used the horror as an alarm to my morning sleepiness.
A radical solution since I wake up almost every day with a slight panic attack but at least I do wake up, thus efficient.
I slowly rose from the comfort my king-sized bed and extended my hand to my phone on the nightstand. I checked the time and I had less than an hour to get ready and drive to my hometown, that was like 100 miles away. Great.

I parked my truck in the entryway of my parents' house at passed 10 o'clock in the morning, that was already 1 hour later than what mum had told me. I was in so much trouble.
I exited the car and picked the hot paper bag and trays of coffee cups from the backseat. I hoped it will at least distract mum from my lateness.
I opened the bag and the aroma of roasted chicken and fries filled my nostrils and I licked my lips. Mum was going to love this. She always said that the only thing she ever loved about American cuisine is their chicken burgers and fries, because the spices in it, tasted of what she used to eat back in India. So I was certain she was going to love my little gift.
I walked to the front door and as I pushed the door opened, I was greeted by the scent of orchids and lavender. I looked around and saw beautiful purple orchids placed everywhere in the living room. I stood awestruck for a moment, just admiring my surrounding. They really did a great job.
I closed the door and walked fully into the brightly decorated living room. Just then I saw my younger brother descending the stairs with yet another basket of orchids.
He looked at me in surprised but then smiled in his usual devilish grin and I knew he was about tease me for being late. Brat.
"Look who grants us the honor of her presence, if it isn't the prodigal daughter Miss Suraya Arielle Leroy-Delhi" Leon said in a fake British accent, wiggling his eyebrows.
"Shut up Lolo" I said and he glared. I knew he didn't like being called by his childhood nickname. It made me smile.
He huffed and walked passed me, to the side kitchen. I followed after him, but before I could say anything else, I heard screeching and pairs of little hands wrapping around my waist and legs.
"ARRIIIIIII!!!!!! YOU HERE!!!" both of the twins chided bouncing like free electrons around my legs. I bent down to greet them, opening my arms widely as they both crashed into me.
"Hey Kelly! Hey Keisha! Of course I'm here, I wouldn't miss it for the world my sweeties -" I pulled back to look at the two pale-skin cuties "but you didn't tell me you were coming, that's not very kind" I pouted.
It was not easy to tell them apart. They were identical twins after all. It was easier to differentiate based on their interests; Kelly was mostly into arts and music. She was a very energetic and outspoken kid, while Keisha was more reserved and calm, her interests were more on logic and sciences. But in times like these, when they weren't doing anything, I was able to tell who was who based on the color of their eyes; Kelly had intense dark eyes while Keisha's were brown chocolate. They both had dark hair and pale skin and almond shape eyes, because of their Asian heritage. They were two little cuties and I loved them.
