THANKS AGAIN FOR READING MY STORY

To say that the past few days had been hard for me, would've been the understatement of the year. Those past days had been an endless nightmare, from which it seemed I couldn't escape and the more I tried, the more I felt like I was drowning. So, I did. I allowed myself to drown.
After our meeting with Detective Jim Hoskins, Leon had driven the car out of Manchester. I hadn't bothered asking him where he was taking us. He could've driven us to broken bridge for all I cared. It didn't matter one bit to me. A deep part of me, even thought of that, as a good idea, because then everything would be over and I wouldn't feel the pain anymore.
Jenna hadn't come with us. She talked about packing or something like that, I hadn't been listening anyway. I just stared absently as she spoke, gave me a forehead kiss and walked away to her car.
At first, Leon tried exchanging words with me while driving, but he quickly let that go. I didn't care about anything he said, or anything in general.
Kyle was dead, what was there to talk about anyway.
His left hand kept caressing my arm in comfort, but not even the warmth of his touch or his reassuring words, could bring me back from the darkness that clouded my mind.
He didn't understand that Kyle wasn't just my boyfriend. He was my rock, my guide, best friend and mentor. He was literally my savior.
Kyle was the only person who'd understood the pain and guilt I felt when my dad died. He'd saved me from myself all those years ago and I was able to move on, because he was the one who controlled everything. He was such an important part of my existence... I'll say he was my life.
If I didn't have a life anymore, what did I have left?
We'd been stuck in traffic outside of Manchester for more than 30 minutes, when my mind suddenly blanked and I couldn't think anymore. Leon's touched was more irritating than anything else and I felt like I was being kidnapped. I needed to get away.
I waited for our car to advance a little before making a run for it. I pushed away Leon's hand, opened the passenger door and quickly ran off.
As predicted, Leon couldn't stop the car, because of the honking from the drivers behind him, so I was well ahead of him when he finally pulled over and followed me.
In my mind, he was the enemy taking me away from Kyle, although my heart knew he wasn't. I heard his voice over the honking car noises and angry drivers' outraged words. Leon was calling my name, pleading with me to stop, but all I saw when I glanced at him, was the image of a monster wanting to capture me in his claws.
I'd been running for a few minutes, when I glanced back once again to check on his progression, looking away from the road ahead. It was too late when I noticed the scooter before me. It was too close for me to avoid the fast approaching vehicle and I braced myself for the impact.
The force of the hit knocked me down to the floor, my arm colliding with the tarred concrete. I can thereafter say, that the pain I felt at that moment, effectively knocked back senses into my head as well.
Fortunately, there was more fear than harm and I only got out of it with a broken arm, although that wasn't the only thing broken.
Mum didn't take it as good as I had though, she barged into my hospital room with puffy red eyes and tearstained cheeks, scolding me as she planted relief kisses on all over my face. It made me incredibly guilty, knowing I was the cause of her distress.
