"Aaaannnd perfect." Jenna said after she'd applied the nude lipstick to my mouth.

She took two steps back to examine her handiwork, adorning a proud smile on her pinky lips.

"I have to say, that if I wasn't so exceptional at my job, I would've made a great career as a professional makeup artist and fashion designer. I mean look at how gorgeous I've made you."

I chuckled, watching as she placed back the lipsticks and brushes in the drawer of the makeup vanity, in my bedroom.

Jenna had agreed to help me dress for the party in Salford, because apparently, I was unable to distinguish between a working outfit and one to wear for such an occasion. She was probably right.

"Do you mean I wasn't gorgeous before?" I asked, hands on my hips like I was offended, though my lips etched with a smile.

Jenna scoffed, before leaning down on my white sheets "Oh please Ari, you know you're beautiful. I just had to brighten all of that brut diamond and I have to say, I did a great job."

"You certainly did." I smiled cheekily, checking myself on the vanity mirror.

I was dressed in a splendid burgundy slim robe, with an open neckline that deepen down to my cleavage and a had slit starting from right thigh. At my feet was a pair of black spool heels, a gold chain clasped around my right ankle.

Jenna decided to straighten my hair, and go for a smokey eyes makeup, to enhance the brightness of my golden eyes. I also had on a pair of dangling earrings, and a silver dive watch clasped on my wrist.

"At what time is your date picking you up?" Jenna teased, while perusing absently through her phone.

"Hey! It's not a da–"

"A date, I know, you've told me like seven times already. But you seem hell-bent on looking good tonight. If not, you won't have asked for my help." She said.

"But it has nothing to do with Megan. I have like little to no experience with this kind of social gatherings. I probably would've worn my usual work clothes, if you didn't drag us to Walmart yesterday." I chuckled when Jenna scrunched her nose, in mock disgust.

"Ooohh my god, don't tell me. I literally saved CATCO's reputation tonight. But I also know, that you and Megan, have gotten really close lately. You literally spend more time with her than with anyone else." She sat up straight to look at me.

I turned my face away from the vanity mirror "Yeah, I mean she's my best friend." I shrugged and walked to my open closet.

"I'm your best friend too, but it's not like you want to shag me." she smirked and I choke on my breathing.

"Jenna!!"

I exclaimed shocked, whereas she burst out laughing, after I'd tried throwing a pillow at her face, but failed miserably. My aim was ridiculous, it didn't even touch her.

"Absolutely not! Megan is my best friend, plus she's a woman. I can never."

Jenna furrowed her brows, her laughter ceased and she now regarded me seriously

"I know it's not because she's a woman. You guys have this insane chemistry together. It's obvious to me that there's something more than friendship between you two. So, what's the real issue?"
