[victoria's pov]

"Victoria, watch out!" Tonks yelled as she tackled me to the ground, stones crashing down just seconds away from where I was standing.

We both quickly got up on our feet in horror at the death eater who had accidentally been impaled with a pipe, their guts peeking out from their back and onto the rocks.

Just an hour ago, I was at the ministry when Kingsley summoned me to the castle with the twins and my brother. I also realised that my D.A. coin I kept around was also being summoned by Hermione, and I knew right away it was serious.

Kingsley briefly explained how death eaters got in, but we had underestimated the number of them who had gotten onto the school grounds.

There were dozens of them, taking us by surprise when we arrived. Dumbledore was nowhere to be seen and students were doing their best to fend off the death eaters.

"Are you alright!?" I exclaimed to Tonks with worry.

She had a nasty cut but nodded as she turned away and I remembered that I had to focus. The way they trained you at the ministry was an understatement to the dangers of death eaters. They truly reeked of death, carelessly shooting hexes and curses with pleasure.

I had lost Fred in the crowd, gathering students and evacuating them to a safe place as much as I could. Was this where the real battle would begin?

"Alarte ascendare!" I exclaimed quickly as a crowd of students flew into the air, a bright red curse flying past them.

They exclaimed with fear as I helped them back down. "Don't fight to defend, fight back to eliminate!" I exclaimed.

"Stupefy!" I thought as I shot a spell at a death eater who was thrown back, surprised by my-non verbal incantation.

I used the same spell and disarmed some who were nearing members of the order and students.

"Reducto maxima!" a voice shouted.

There was a sudden explosion as I reacted too late and was thrown back, stumbling down stairs as I felt my leg twist in the wrong direction.

"You fool!" I heard a familiar voice shout. "You could have killed us all!"

A woman cackled as she ran off. I heard footsteps rush near me as my vision grew groggy. I stood, my entire left leg bleeding as a shard of glass stuck straight out of my thigh. I huffed quickly as I tried to remove it from my flesh.

"Don't!" someone shouted as they ran down the stairs. "Don't be a fool, you'll die if you take it out like that!"

His voice was demanding and I realised it was Mattheo. I felt an anger rise in my chest as I pointed my want at him, shooting a hex.

He disarmed me and neared as I stepped away, the glass in my leg growing more discomforting with each second that passed.

"You need to take it out at a certain angle," he said as he petrified me. "Don't move- I mean, you know what I mean."

I watched as Mattheo placed a hand on my thigh, taking a breath before inspecting the injury. I wanted to slash him with that glass that penetrated through me right now. To pierce through his neck after what he had done to the school.

Without a warning, he gripped on the glass and pulled it out as a scream of agony escaped from me. He seemed to be taking his time as he pushed down on my thigh and finally tossed the large piece of glass aside.

I huffed again, my body sore as I found my strength to lunge at him, pulling daggers from my waist as I swung at him. He dodged it quickly, but not before I grazed his chest.
