Nosaka × Anna: Connection

chapter 9

Nosaka's POV:

I can't believe I hurt Anna so badly. I thought things would go back to the way I wanted them to be. Was I really that selfish? What can I do to make things right with Anna? How will she ever forgive me?

When I got back to the base, I went straight to my room. That's when Nitquashi came in.

Nitqashi: Nosaka-san, where were you all day?

Nosaka: I was following Anna, but when I confessed my love to her, she rejected me. She said things wouldn't go my way and how much she's been through because of the heartbreak. I don't know what to do right now.

(Nosaka said while holding his head)

Nitqashi: You know, Nosaka-san, I heard rumors that Anna always hides her true feelings and never really opens up to anyone. Even Ootani, her best friend, doesn't know much about her. So, if you want her to accept you, it won't be easy, especially since you rejected her so harshly.

Nosaka felt a glimmer of hope after what Nitqashi had said.

Nosaka: Thanks, Nitquashi. After all, an emperor must chase his empress.

(Nitqashi smiled) Then, Nosaka-san, I'll be heading out. Oh, by the way, let me tell you, you have a lot of rivals. You know how popular she is.

Nosaka: (glaring) Who are they, Nitqashi? Tomorrow, I want a list of all those rivals. No one can win Anna except for me.

Nitqashi: (thinking to himself) Why did I say that? Goodnight, Nosaka-san. (looking glum)

Anna POV

When I arrived home, the butler asked if everything was okay. I told him I was just tired from the doctor visit and decided to head to my room.

Anna: Is Father home?

Butler: Not yet, but he will be home shortly.

Anna:* Ah, I guess I can't escape even here.*

Butler: Miss Anna, you have a surprise waiting for you. Actually, we thought you'd come and (he opened her room door).

Froy: TADAA!

Anna: Froy, what are you doing here? (She ran and gave him a tight hug).

Froy: Sister Anna, I really missed you and thought I'd give you a surprise visit. I was going to call you tomorrow, but you beat me to it. (While hugging her back).

Anna: I'm glad I came back today. I missed you too.

Then they sat down while the butler ordered the maids to serve dinner.

Froy: So, how have you been, sister? I heard you had a doctor's appointment today.

Anna: I'm doing great, and the doctor is seeing improvements. (She said with a forced smile).

Froy: (Who knew she isn't) Anna, are you sure?

At that moment, she broke down. She couldn't keep the act anymore. If it was Bernard, she would have tried her best to contain herself, but with her little brother Froy, she couldn't.

Anna: Actually, there is a lot going on, and my condition is constantly getting worse, as well as the nightmares that continue to come back, to the point where I barely sleep at night.

Froy: Sister, I'm not good with words like big bro, but you can always share your worries with me, and I won't tell a soul. (While tightly hugging her).
