As Severus walked through the dimly lit corridors to check on students who could be roaming around after hours, he noticed a figure on the floor. He quickened his pace, thinking it was a student and his breath caught when he realized it was you, lying on your stomach, sobbing.

"Y/N," Severus said softly, kneeling beside you. His usual stern demeanor softened with concern. He gently helped you up and enveloped you in a comforting hug. "What happened? Why are you here?"

You sniffled, trying to compose yourself. "It's... it's Lockhart... H-he..."

Severus's eyes darkened with anger, but his voice remained soothing. "It's all right. You're safe now."

-----

Draco, passing by, witnessed the scene. His frustration with you and his godfather grew, feeling betrayed and hurt by the sight as he walked away.

-----

Sensing your trembling, Severus guided you toward his chambers (which were closer than yours). The walk was silent, but his presence was a comforting anchor. Once inside, he led you to a nearby chair, helping you sit down gently as he went to his room and wrapped you in his thick cotton blanket.

You glanced around Severus's room, taking in your surroundings. It felt empty, the decor minimal and stark, reflecting his personality. The walls were a muted shade of gray, almost blending into the dim lighting. A green and silver tapestry adorned the wall on one side, the Slytherin emblem prominently displayed in the center. The serpent motif was subtly woven into the fabric, adding an air of quiet menace to the room.

Bookshelves lined the walls, filled to the brim with an extensive collection of books. Different potions were on the desk below it and more on the opposite shelves, glistening in the windows.

The room was silent, save for the faint crackling of the candle and the occasional rustle of parchment as Severus moved. Despite its starkness, there was a certain comfort in the room—a sense of order and control that seemed to mirror Severus himself. Severus handed you a cup of tea, his hands brushing yours briefly. "Drink this. It will help."

You took a sip, the warmth of the tea soothing your frayed nerves. Severus sat across from you, his dark eyes filled with concern. "What exactly happened, Y/N?"

You sighed, recounting the incident, starting from the moment Lockhart brushed his legs on you in the Great Hall to pinning you to the wall and trying to kiss you, even mentioning the words he told you.

Severus's jaw tightened, but he listened intently. "Lockhart has always been a nuisance, but this is beyond unacceptable."

You continued, your voice trembling. "I felt so helpless. And then Draco... he just left me there."

Severus's expression softened. "I assure you, this will be addressed. I will speak with the Headmistress. Lockhart's actions will not go unpunished. He will be expelled from Hogwarts for good. As for Draco, I'll try confronting him about it as well."

Relieved by his words, you felt a sense of calm wash over you. "Thank you, Severus. Although I think it's my job to speak with Draco,"

"Sure, Y/N, I'll let you talk with him, but leave Lockhart to me." He smiled at you, giving you a rare, real smile. You felt really safe with him. Sipping on your tea, you inhaled the scent of his room, sandalwood. It didn't smell like him, but you sensed it around his room, "it could be his perfume when he's out on school premises," you thought as you continued to sip on your tea. Severus looked at you, covering his mouth and smirking. He should really stop reading your mind.
