Run boy run

Sixteen years ago
A young Beatrix grinned happily as she bounded over to the table she and her siblings sat at every Wednesday evening. They'd made it a tradition to sneak out of the house once every week to get donuts at the local café. Grace had started noticing after the third time and made it her mission to distract their father every Wednesday so that the children could have somewhat of a happy childhood. Pogo had noticed three weeks after that and each time he would "accidentally" forget to lock one of the children's windows to make it easier on them.

"They're out of chocolate donuts, but the woman at the counter said she could bring us ones filled with pudding." Bea gushed happily once she reached the table where her siblings were waiting impatiently for her.

"Noo, I wanted chocolate." A young Luther groaned unhappily.

"Be glad you're getting anything at all." Five snapped at him.

"Thanks for asking the waitress, Bee." Ben smiled softly at her.

"Of course." Bea smiled back.

"Excuse me." A voice suddenly spoke, startling the siblings. "Are you the Umbrella academy?" A girl asked with wide eyes.

"Yeah." Luther puffed out his chest. "I'm Number One, the strongest." He grinned at the girl, who gave him a weary look.

"That's cool, but actually...um, I was wondering if I could maybe get your autograph." The girl looked at Bea with a hopeful expression.

Bea frowned in confusion. "Mine?" She asked startled. "I think you want Allison's or Ben's autograph more."

"No." The girl shook her head. "I want yours."

Ben nudged Bea slightly and gave her an encouraging smile. "Go on." He whispered quietly.

"Um, okay!" Bea smiled nervously at the girl, getting up out of her seat. "What do you want me to sign?"

"I don't really have anything on me, maybe a napkin." The girl asked, fidgeting with her rings as she realised Bea Hargreeves was standing in front of her.

"I bet we can ask the woman on the counter for a piece of paper or something." Bea said, smiling reassuringly at the girl. "My real name is Bea Hargreeves by the way, what's yours?"

"Harper Goodwill."

Present

"No, no." Klaus cried softly in his sleep. Bea frowned at his nearly naked form, lying on the couch. She took out her earplugs to listen to what Klaus was hearing, but couldn't hear the normal screaming that surrounded her brother so she assumed he was "just" dreaming.

"Hey, Klaus. You're okay." She tried to gently wake him up out of his nightmare. She tapped her hand lightly against his chest, which seemed to work as Klaus shot up with a loud gasp, nearly hitting Bea in the head.

"Hey, you're okay. The ghosts won't hurt you now." Bea reassured him quickly.

Klaus panted heavily, seemingly not having heard Bea as he began to search around the room.

"You know you talk in your sleep." A voice suddenly startled Bea.

"Oh hi, Ben." Bea waved into the empty space, used to not knowing where her dead brother exactly was.

"Hey, sis." Ben replied. "I'm to your left."

"My bad." Bea chuckled as she waved further to her left.
