Normally I would have already started making my way over to the next town or city and whatnot, but after my last gym battle, I really wanna make sure that I'm trained enough for whatever comes next. So I decided to spend a few days in Ecruteak City, training in the routes outside of the city. I decided to even catch a few more Pokémon to fill up some pages in my Pokédex as well, so... I ended up catching an Oddish, a Paras, and a Drowzee! Hopefully someday I can free up some time to train those three as well.
Well, after all the training these past few days, I felt like today was finally the right day to leave and head off to the next town. I wanted to do a bit of sightseeing in Ecruteak though one last time before I left. Even though the town was pretty small, I had somehow missed this dance studio that was there. Guess my training really distracted me, heheh...
Well, anyway, once I walked into the dance studio, I was met with an unexpected scene.
On the dance floor, I could see one of those kimono girls that I'd seen before, who was getting yelled at by this Team Rocket grunt.
"I've had enough of this! Would you stop doing that serious dance?!" The Rocket Grunt angrily snapped. "Show me something more fun... Like a hula dance!"
"You... You mustn't push such a request on me... Please..." The kimono girl nervously muttered in response.
"Wh-what?! Are you telling me you don't respect what the customer wants?!" The grunt snapped back. The kimono girl silently shook her head, nervously taking a step back from the grunt, who scoffed at her.
"Pfft... Then I guess I'll just have to show you how to dance myself! I'll show you a great one! HAHAHA!!"
The Rocket Grunt then started dramatically spinning and dancing around the stage, the kimono girl backed against the wall, her expression a mix of confusion and fear.
Man... This is all getting too weird now. I need to put a stop to this.
"Hey, you!" I quickly hopped onto the stage, calling out to the Rocket grunt. He immediately paused his frantic dancing, turning to me with an annoyed look.
"Excuse me? Who even are you?" The Rocket Grunt asked.
"...It doesn't matter. I want you to leave this woman alone!" I demanded. The grunt had an annoyed look on his face, as he pulled out a Poke ball.
"Oh, really now? So... A kid like you seriously dares to get into my way?" The grunt asked.
"If you don't stop, then... Yes, I will.
"... Then so be it. Let's go Koffing!!"
"Haunter, quickly! Use Shadow Ball!!"
Before the grunt's Koffing could even strike, I sent out Haunter, who managed to knock out Koffing with one shot.
Oh, man... I think my training has really paid off!
"Oh, great... Now you've made me look like a villain!" The grunt scoffed, putting Koffing back into his ball.
"No offense, but... You already did that to yourself." I replied.
"O-oh yeah?! Well..." The grunt paused mid sentence, his eyes quickly going wide. "Oh snap... I was supposed to be on an important mission here! If they find out I was wasting time here... They'll have me fired!!"
"Important mission...? What..."
"Gotta go! Later!!"
And before I could question the Rocket grunt any more, he had already dashed out of the building.
That was weird... What kind of important mission was he talking about...?Sometime later...
After leaving the dance studio, I finally left Ecruteak City, traveling down the next route until I arrived in the next city... Olivine City! This city was really beautiful as well... It was a bit bigger than Ecruteak, and I could see a beach and the ocean on the other side of the city! Ooh, I wonder if any of my Pokémon would wanna play on the beach with me...? Oh, wait a minute! I can see a gym nearby... I should go challenge the gym right now!
As I was walking over to the gym, I could see the front door open, seeing Silver walking out of the gym.
"Silver, hey! Did you just finish challenging the gym?" I asked.
"...Oh, It's you." Silver huffed, letting out a sigh as he walked up to me. "I couldn't. The gym leader isn't even in there right now."
"Really? Why?" I asked.
"Apparently she's taking care of some sick Ampharos at the lighthouse." Silver scoffed. "Ugh, it's ridiculous! Oh boo hoo, the poor, sick Pokémon... If you ask me, she should just let the sick Pokémon go already! A Pokémon that can't battle is completely worthless!"
Wow... I've never seen anyone that's so cold towards Pokémon as much as Silver is... Well, maybe except for Team Rocket, that is. I wonder what's happened to Silver in his life to make him speak and think like this...?
"Whatever... If the gym leader isn't here, then I'm not gonna waste my time in this city any longer."
And with that, Silver quickly walked off. Hmm... So the gym leader is in the lighthouse...? Oh, I can see it on the other side of the city!
Maybe I could try and help her out...?
