Lance lead me back over to Mahogany town, leading me to the front of this small shop.
"Wait... Does this shop belong to Team Rocket?" I asked.
"...You'll see. Just stay behind me." Lance says sternly. Me and Ampharos then watched carefully, as Lance suddenly kicked the door to the shop open, him and his Dragonite storming into the shop.
"AGH!! What the heck?!" One of the men inside the store shouted with utter shock.
"Dragonite, use Hyper Beam!" Lance commanded. Dragonite then blasted a powerful Hyper Beam right at the walls, nearly hitting the man.
"I know that strange radio signal is coming from this place, Team Rocket... You might as well give up your hideout now." Lance threatened.
"Ok ok, geez! I'll tell you where it is, just don't kill me!!" The man whimpered in pure fear. The man then walked up to a nearby shelf, pushing it aside... And revealing a hidden stairway that lead downwards. Whoa, Lance is pretty smart. He must have been investigating this Team Rocket situation for a while now...
Me and Lance then headed down the stairs, which lead to the secret hideout. It was weird, the hideout looked completely different compared to the shop right above. Having steel walls and floors, compared to the old wooden building right above it. Inside the hideout I could also see a hallway, seeing two other hallways that connected to it.
"I can't believe this... What exactly is down here?" I asked.
"I'm honestly not sure... Guess there's only one way to find out." Lance replied. "Ara, let's split up. You go one way, and I'll go the other."
"Yeah, sounds good. I'll go that way." I replied, pointing to one of the hallways. Lance silently nodded in agreement, him and Dragonite quickly running down the other hallway. I carefully walked down the other hallway, and aligned along the walls, I could see a few of these weird statues. The statues resembled the Pokémon Persian, but it looked like they had these red, glowing eyes. They were kinda creepy looking, to be honest... What exactly are these for?
Well, once I stepped out in front of one of them... I quickly figured it out.
BEEP!! BEEP!! Suddenly I could hear alarms blaring out of the statue, as I saw a Rocket grunt charging down the hallway up to me.
"INTRUDER ALERT!! I am NOT letting you past me!" The grunt angrily shouted, holding up a Poke ball. Aw, geez...
...Hopefully this battle doesn't take too long.Sometime later...
Man... How many freaking Rocket grunts are in this hideout?! I've had a grunt come at me with every single statue I had to pass by... And there's a LOT of statues in this place! Luckily now I could see this staircase at the end of the hallway. Hopefully the next area doesn't have any more of those statues...
...Well, I was gonna go up the staircase, but I got a bit distracted when I saw this nearby desk and chair, which had some documents sprawled out onto the desk. I was looking over the documents to get an idea of what was going on here, and, well... I found something that seems a bit... Concerning.
The few documents I was reading seemed pretty vague, only containing some brief descriptions of some kind of plans. I didn't really understand what most of it was referring to, but there was this one note... It mentioned something about this child that was... Kidnapped? I think? Why exactly would Team Rocket need to kidnap a child? Whoever that kid is, I need to find them and help them out... Hopefully they're somewhere in this hideout.
After putting the documents away, I finally made my way up the staircase, only to see more hallways going in different directions. And as I started walking down the hallway, I quickly ran into Lance again.
"Hey, Ara... How are you holding up?" Lance asked.
"I'm alright... My Pokémon are getting pretty tired out, though." I replied. Lance looked over at Ampharos, who looked pretty exhausted.
"Here... I'll help them out."
Lance then pulled out some potions, quickly healing up Ampharos, alongside the rest of my Pokémon as well.
"Thanks. So, have you found anything important up here?" I asked.
"Yeah, actually... Here, I'll show you."
Lance then lead me down the hallway a bit, leading me to this big metal door that was locked.
"This is the generator room. It's powering this whole hideout and the radio signals, but look..." Lance then pointed to a small mechanical box next to the door.
"This door... It's protected by a voice box that scans for a specific voice and password." Lance states.
"Oh... You think there's a way to break the door open?" I asked.
"Maybe, but this door is pretty sturdy..." Lance replied. "I've been trying, but I can't get it to budge one bit."
"Hmmm... Maybe I can go look around? I'll see if I can find out who that person is." I suggest.
"Yeah... That sounds good. In the meantime, I'll try and see if there's a way to break this door down." Lance says. "Just be careful, Ara. There's nothing but more grunts further down."
"Yeah, thanks... I will."
