26: Thankfully

Chengdu, China

"Sir." The butler bowed down and handed the file to the other male.

The said man smiled a painful smile as the butler left. "Do you ever feel pain and guilt knowing you're the reason she is gone?"

The room suddenly felt cold and empty. Just like the void in his soul and heart. All these years he never found love.

Revenge, hatred and pain filled his mind and heart. He never learned to let go of the past.

Wang Mansions

Xiao Zhan was too deep in thought. All those moments he had with his dad flashbacked in his heart. Painfully he watched the sunset. The golden hue lingered on his face.

Wang Yibo, standing at the doorway, was totally whipped. He watched as Xiao Zhan gracefully stared at the sunset.

"So pretty." He said, these were the only words he could think of.

He moved over to the younger. In a daze the younger asked, "Do you think what I said to her was wrong? Was I too rude to Xuan Lu jie jie?"

Wang Yibo stared at him. He shook his head and kissed the younger on his forehead. "It's okay.. mm" Xiao Zhan hugged him.

They were here again. In this room, together with the moonlight and sunset. Xiao Zhan asked him again,"You love me?" He trembled little.

"I love you." Those words pleased the younger. Xiao Zhan snuggled closer to Wang Yibo.

Behind them stood the moonlight. Barely showing due to the light of day.

Everything seemed too beautiful to be real. But love is like magic, something beautiful that needs to be protected. Something amazing that need time, something strong that goes through challenges.

Xiao Zhan had a smile on his face. Wang Yibo held the younger close to him, as if he might run away.

Wang Haoxuan's room. The two lovers snuggled closely to each other. They held each other close, cause they knew the person in their arms, is their one true love.

Song Ji Yang caressed his baby bump. "Feel." He guided Wang Haoxuan's hands to his belly.

Even though the older was tired, feeling his baby little movements, he felt excited. He jumped up from his laying position and laid on Song Ji Yang's belly. Hearing all the baby's movements.

Song Ji Yang could not help but giggle. The few people in his life he was most thankful for.

Xuan Lu's house. The couple on a sofa in each other's arms. One was drowning in guilt.

"I did wrong didn't I?" Xuan Lu's eyes were teary. The mood made Cao YuChen frown, seeing his wife in pain he couldn't help but blame himself.

He held her closer. The fragile girl immediately felt happy with the warmth of the other. But still Xiao Zhan's words rang in her ear. She showed a calm face, but inside she was drowning in the pool of guilt.

The thought of being a bad person to her own mother all these years made her cringe.

Cao Yu Chen felt his wife's sadness. True he could not do anything, this was her family matter. But no matter what he will always stay by her side. That's love, right?
