"Oh, you," he started, pointing at you playfully while rolling his eyes. "I think I've seen you before."

Kikoru glanced at you while your eyes struggled to stare straight at the captain, scanning you with his gaze. "Hassegawa, do you think I've seen her before?" he questioned, looking up to his vice-captain.

"I am certain that you didn't because she's a new recruit," Hassegawa answered, his eyes also on you, trying to remember if he had seen you before but to no avail.

"Aww, too bad. Someone as pretty as her would not escape my eye." Feeling your cheeks getting warm, you brush it off by giving a salute.

"I'm Kikoru Shinomiya from the third unit. L/n and I will be under the care of the first unit. Please give us any orders as you see fit!"

"I'm Y/n L/n, from the same unit. Please guide us during our stay here, sir!"

"Now that you've mentioned your name, it starts to ring a bell. According to the report, you're the officer who fought with Hoshina against No. 10?" Vice-Captain Hassegawa, along with other officers cleaning Captain Narumi's trash, paused to look at you, some whispering among themselves.

"Yes, sir. I am that officer."
You firmly respond, and he nods in amusement. "I was also told by Vice-Captain Hoshina to send his regards to you." Now that you've mentioned him, his expression changed, seemingly irritated by something in your statement.

You didn't hear him, but he said something under his breath. Did he just curse? He brushed it off, and Vice-Captain Hassegawa, who had been lifting him the whole time, placed him on the floor.

"Well, kidding aside. No need to be so humble. I don't need formal greetings. There's only one thing I desire from you two as the captain of the first unit."

"By one thing, what-" Kikoru was cut off by the loud alarm ringing throughout the base.

"Oh, an attack. Perfect timing. You should learn what one thing is from our battle. I give you two permission to study from the VIP seat." He tilted his head towards you and Kikoru. His expression changed, becoming more smug, intimidating, and serious.

The monster heading towards Tokyo Bay has currently passed the first anti-monster bank and is northbound. The first unit is heading to subjugate it. Currently, there are evacuation alerts out for Kawasaki Ward, Tsurumi Ward, Kanagawa Ward, and Nishi Ward.

Vice-Captain Hassegawa is by the bay, along with other officers, shooting cannons towards the gigantic kaiju in the sea. It growls with every hit it receives. Flying cannons echoed along with its wailing.

"All right then, let's go." Captain Narumi ordered as he prepared to get off the helicopter. "Manners. Appearances. Diligence. Dignity. I don't seek any of that from you." He stated without looking back at you. He slid his palms through his hair to lift it up, a gesture he always did before fighting kaijus. He then jumped off with his customized weapon. You heard it clank and then spark as it landed on the honju's back. It screamed in pain as explosions and electric shocks hit it.

Repetitive explosions echoed as you and Kikoru gasped in surprise, witnessing the strongest anti-kaiju fighter in Japan. The honju wailed in pain as smoke covered the area. You couldn't see what was going on due to the thick smoke from the explosions a few minutes ago.
