Your footsteps echoed into the empty hallway with Captain Mina on your side.
"Regarding our sudden request, you were informed that no. 10 woke up. We have been keeping an eye on it since yesterday."

You're all on ears, listening to the third division Captain, she clicked her tongue and continued. " Okonogi said that it won't speak to anyone aside from the vice captain. But it was also looking for you." You sweat dropped from her explanation as you continued to follow her which led you into a room, where you saw the vice captain in his combat suit while waving at you standing by the door way.

"Good morning," he greeted which you have him your firm salute and he nodded. He seems to act like he didn't act like a child towards you last night.

"Good morning, sir." You said in a very formal tone as you slowly put your hand down to your side.

"Did she catch up already?" The vice captain shifted his stare towards the captain beside you which didn't say anything but a nod in response.

The captain walk up, pressing the door's lock and it slide open. Inside, there are some people in white lab gowns on the side where Captain Mina went and in the center, there it is.

The enemy that almost got all of the people in third division killed. You slowly walk up to it as you felt tense, it will talk unless its you and the vice captain. You guys defeated it after all, Considering how he complimented your skills during the fight.

He might spill some information that would help you.

As you draw near to it, it is clear that his body was completely destroyed. His head only left unscathed and its spine connected to its core. It is completely sealed in a preservation chamber with filled with fluid inside for it to float.

"Morning sleeping beauty. Did ya have a good sleep... Kaiju no. 10?" Vice Captain Hoshina casually greeted the kaiju in the chamber whose eyes were locked on you two since you entered. The vice captain's tone was friendly, as if he's
talking to one of his friends.

It didn't respond for a while which made you wonder if it could actually speak. A loud scream echoed in the room which made you startled, sending your hair flying with its loud scream, subconsciously grip on the vice captain's arm which you abruptly put your hand down.

"Yer loud, dumb-ass. Next time you do that, I'll chop you up." He threatened the bodyless kaiju in the chamber. But instead of being scared, it made a loud laugh.

"Sword man, you truly are different from others." Pertaining to the vice captain and then shifted his gaze on you.
"You as well, You and your partner seem to have a unique bond. I've never seen anyone fight together in such perfect sync while also protecting each other so seamlessly."

As much as you wanted to disagree and explain that it was your first time fighting together, you couldn't help but wonder if it was the vice captain skillfully adapting to your fighting style to coordinate the attack flawlessly, or if it had something to do with your suspecting muscle memory. The synchronization felt almost instinctual, leaving you puzzled about the connection between you and the vice captain.
