short hair ?

Riki had finished his essay in the middle of the night and had just handed it in to his teacher.

He'd applied himself to describing the place perfectly and had done a lot of research to make his writing as complete as possible.

He wanted him and Sora to get a good grade.

He stood with Jake in the school corridors.

"So they'll never win it ?" growled Jake, shaking his phone in his hands.

"There's still a baseball game ?"

Jake nodded and brought his phone closer to his face to get a better look.

Riki dropped to the wall and shoved his hands in his pockets.

He turned his head everywhere in the hope of seeing her.

He wanted to see Sora.

But when he finally found her, she was with Itsuki at the end of the corridor.

Riki huffed and said to Jake, "I'll be back in two minutes."

His best friend looked up, completely out of the game he was watching, and followed Riki, saying, "Wait, I'm coming with you."

When they got close to Sora and Itsuki, Riki said with a big smile. "Hi, you two."

"Hello !" Sora said with a big smile too. "Look, Itsuki has cut his hair."

Sora ran her hand through his hair, smiling, while Riki watched Itsuki blush at Sora's touch.

Riki ran his hand through his own hair and imagined how Sora's touch might make him feel.

Maybe Sora prefers short hair ?

Besides,

it doesn't even suit Itsuki,

so why is she smiling like that ?

I can't help but envying him.

"It looks good on you, man." Jake says, patting Itsuki on the shoulder.

Riki turned his head towards Jake, his mouth hanging open a little. Jake noticed and raised an eyebrow, saying, "Don't you think he looks good Riki?"

His face brightened suddenly and he tried to smile as genuinely as he could. "Yes, it really suits you."

Sora continued to rub his hand over the back of Itsuki's head and he blushed more and more.

"I think we're going to be late for class." said Riki, running his hand over the back of his neck.

Jake looked at him, frowning. He pulled out his phone and showed it to Riki. "What are you talking about Riki, we've got five minutes left."

"I've got stuff to prepare." he took Jake's arm and started walking before turning around. "Sora, are you coming with us ?"

"I'm staying a little longer with Itsuki."

"I'd like you to read the essay before I give it to the teacher."

Sora rolled her eyes, then followed Jake and Riki to the classroom.

Once there, Riki went to his seat and Sora followed him while Jake sat behind.

"Let me read the essay." Sora asked as she sat down on the table across from Riki's.

He started rummaging around in his bag, but after five minutes his hands were empty.

He slapped his forehead with his hand and said mockingly. "What was I thinking, I've already given it back."

Sora's shoulders slumped suddenly and she huffed. "You just didn't want me to be with Itsuki, did you ?"

He sat down, putting his bag on the ground. "No, you have the right to be with him if you want to."

Sora nodded, then stepped down from the table. "I'm sure you've done well anyway."

"Did you at least get some sleep ?"

Sora nodded with a small smile and then went to her seat.

Riki watched her playing with her scarf, which went perfectly with her outfit.

He turned to Jake, who was finishing the essay he'd done all by himself. "Do you think I'd look good with shorter hair or not ?" Riki ran his hand through his hair.

"Yes, probably." Jake put down his pen and looked up at his best friend. "You could try it, it's been a long time since you changed your haircut."

Riki nodded, then their teacher entered and the class began.

Riki's mind quickly drifted towards the sun, but the clouds soon arrived and hid it.

As time went by, the class darkened and the clouds became increasingly gray, almost black.

By the end of the hour, the windows were wet from the rain.

When the bell rang, Riki put his things away and, out of the corner of his eye, he saw Itsuki walking towards Sora, umbrella in hand.

Sora smiled, then left with him.

Is she really going home with him ?

No,

she can't !

She can't go through this with Itsuki,

it has to be me !

Riki chatted with Jake before his best friend left in another direction to go home.

Riki put on his hood and headed out into the rain until he came across Sora walking ahead of him, without an umbrella.

Riki smiled, then took his small umbrella out of his bag. It was only for one person, but he'd give it to her in full.

The rain became more and more intense and the wind was starting to be powerful.

"Sora, it's raining a lot. Are you okay ?" shouted Riki behind her.

Sora began to shake and Riki froze when he saw Sora unfurl her umbrella.

He quickly put his away, waiting for Sora to turn around.

"Riki, come on ! You're going to be cold !"

Riki ran to her and hid under the umbrella.

"I didn't know you had any foresight." Riki pointed to the umbrella.

"Oh, Itsuki lent it to me." Sora replied, twisting the umbrella, causing the water on it to fall around them. "I have to give it back to him tomorrow morning."

"I'll take care of it."

"But I don't mind."

"You mustn't look out of place in class, Sora. Education is important."

"He'd scheduled a time in the courtyard, I wouldn't rent out the classes."

"I'll give it to him tomorrow morning." Riki put his arm around Sora's neck.

Sora turned her head to Riki, forcing him to look at her too. "It's to warm you up."

He let out a small smile, then they headed home, Riki holding Itsuki's umbrella.
