Louis
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It had been exactly three weeks since I transferred to Lily's history class. We hang out at least twice a week. It was really awesome. The guys on the team have gotten better. They respect the fact that I like Lily, so they don't really talk about it.
It was Saturday, and we had just won our fifth football match. "Great job today Tomlinson! Keep up the good work." coach Loddi says, walking past me. I grab all my stuff and leave the locker room, hoping to catch Lily at her dad's tent. Since it was a home match, all the guys were just taking their time leaving. A bunch of guys were out buying the leftovers from concessions. I jog over towards the nut tent. I see Lily's dad there with Michelle.
"Hey Mr. Collins. Is Lily around?" I say, walking up to the tent. "Yeah she ran to the trailer real quick but she should be back soon. Nice job today. We kept hearing your name from the announcer." he tells me. I smile. "Thanks." I say. "Hey Lou." Lily says, coming to my side. My smile widens at her presence and the fact that she used my nickname. "Mr. Collins. If you don't mind, I would really like to steal your daughter away for awhile." I say, facing her dad again. He nods and laughs. "That's fine. Just take care of her." he tells me. "Always." I say quietly. I look down at Lily. "Come on. I have a surprise for you." I tell her.
I grab her hand and pull her after me. "Where are we going?" she asks, giggling a little bit. I take her in front of the stands and put my bag down. "Louis-" "Stop! Just trust me." I tell her. I place my hands on her hips. She grabs my hands and looks at me shocked. "Trust me." I tell her. I lift her up over the fence and place her on the other side. She squeals and starts to freak out a bit. I pull myself over the fence and stand next to her. "Are you mad?! What are we doing?" she asks me. I can tell she's panicking. I grab her hand and pull her out onto the field. "You showed me your special place. I thought I would show you mine." I tell her. She looks around a bit. "It's so big." she whispers while we reach the middle. I spin her around. "Look." I tell her. Her eyes get big looking at the stands. I laugh and lay down, telling her to lay down next to me. "This is incredible. Isn't it scary with all those people staring at you?" she asks. "Not really. It's actually kind of awesome. I like it." I tell her. She smiles at me. "Thanks for taking me out here, even though I feel like I'm trespassing or something." she tells me. I laugh and turn my head towards her. "Lily I know it's early... But would you like to-" I'm cut off by coach Loddi. "Tomlinson! What are you doing out there?!" he screams across the field. Lily and I sit up looking over at him. "Just hanging out coach." I tell back. He throws his hands up in the air. "On my field!" he shouts, starting to laugh. "Get off boy!" I stand up, pulling Lily up by her hand. We run back to the front of the stands. I lift Lily over the fence and again she squeals the whole time. I look at her before I jump over the fence myself. "Are you ticklish?" I ask her. "Maybe." she says.
I grab my bag and walk with Lily around the side of the stands. Tyler is around the corner starring at his phone. "Hey Louis! I have been looking all over for you." Tyler tells me. "Evidently forgot to check the field." I mumble quietly. Lily bursts out laughing. I laugh with her. Tyler just stares at us like we are insane. "Anyways. The guys are all getting together for a bonfire. Are you coming?" he asks me. I look over at Lily, who has stopped laughing and is starring at the ground. "Uhh I don't know." I say. Tyler looks over at Lily. "You can come to Lily. All the guys bring other girls." he tells her. She looks up at him and then over at me. "I don't know if that's a good idea." she says quietly. "Oh come on Lil." I say shorting her name. "I can give you guys a ride." Tyler suggests. "Okay." Lily says.
We walk with Tyler to his dad's car. I sit with Lily in the back while Tyler sits up front. Tyler's dad rambles about football all the way to Matt's house. When we get there, Lily stays silent beside me. We go to the backyard, joining all the guys and everybody else. Some of them greet us, but Kegan and George keep their distance. I get me and Lily a soda and stay with Tyler.
"How are you Lily?" Sarah, one of Matt's friends says, finally bringing Lily into our conversation. "I'm alright. How bout you?" Lily replies quietly. "I'm great!" Sarah chirps. "I love your shoes by the way!" she tells Lily. Lily looks like she is warming up to talking to her. "I'm so glad people are being nice." I whisper to Tyler. He pats my back.
Once the sun sets, they start the bonfire and we all sit around it. Everyone is talking and telling stories. It was really nice. The guys even included Lily in everything. The only one acting weird was Kegan. I don't know why, but he didn't seem right. "I'm going to find the bathroom." Lily says, leaning over to me. She gets up and leaves. I focus my attention back on Sarah who was telling a story. "So he comes to my house! Like dude, how do you know where I live?!" she tells the group. All of us laugh and she continues the story.
I look around for Lily, but I can't see her. When I look back at the group, I can't help but notice that Kegan is gone. I turn back around just in time to see him slip through the back door, heading into the house. I give it a second thinking he may have just left something in there, but he doesn't return.
I jump up and head towards the house. "Lou?" Tyler shouts, watching me run to the back door. As soon as I get the door cracked I hear a cry for help.
